Jamie Moore Retires - Official Statement

Post by Stegsie »

As per the thread title, we can confirm that Jamie Moore has officially retired.

Click the link to read the full statement from Jamie himself. It's not short - but it's well worth a read. Even in retirement, Jamie is still as honest as they come.

Congratulations on a fantastic career Jamie, it definately sounds the right time for you to hang em up. There's no point you clinging onto your career if it could jeopardise your logt term health

You may not have got the recognition you deserve from the masses/casual fans, but you always come towards the top of the list when us 'anoraks' have done polls on their fave fighters. Respect

Good luck for the future Jamie, I hope you've done financially well out of the game

Probably the first time I've EVER read something like that and had a genuine lump in my throat. I'll never forget the Macklin fight - the best fight I've seen in years and years and a credit to both men.
I think Jamie would make a fantastic trainer on so many levels - knowledge, temperament etc. Could also imagine him making a great TV analyst.
Never had the pleasure of meeting him but genuinely wish him the very best in whatever he does from here. A bonefide British boxing legend and a role model for ANYONE in terms of the way he conducts himself, not just aspiring boxers.

His family have a lot to be proud of, as do fans of boxing. Sorry its at an end but glad to see its Jamie's decision. I dont normally buy into tags bandied around by promoters but 'the fighters fighter' really just sat perfectly on Jamies shoulders.

God help any of his future boxers who arent putting the effort in.

All the very best Jamie, the sport salutes you!

Congratulations on a terrific career. You have been involved in some historical battles and have boxed at the top level. You have also been wonderfully frank, honest and open throughout your career and for this reason have remained a fans and fighters favourite. I wish you all the luck in the world with whatever you do next.

Kind regards

You will be missed Jamie.

One of Britians most exciting fighters ever. Your fights with the likes of Macklin, Jones, and Rhodes will be remembered for ever.

Every time I saw your name on a card, I always made sure I tuned in.

I wish you luck for the future, you have been a great servent for British Boxing. :TU:
