Hello,
I am a 24 year old that always enjoyed watching boxing. I am presently in University and I have 1 more year to go. However I have been noticing some blubber accumulating on me (due to all the sitting and reading I have to do with little time for sport). Now that I only have 1 semester to go I have a lot more time in my schedule (very few classes left). So I have time to work out.
I would like to join a boxing club/gym based in montreal. Problem is there are many of them. I have a car so location is not such a problem. What I would like to know is the following: which boxing club/gym would you recommend to a guy like me that would like to first get in shape, learning the details of boxing and later even participate in amateur competitions from time to time for fun (no professional aspirations what so ever, this is truly based on a desire to get in shape and participate for the fun of competition in amateur fights).
So know any gyms that have good amateur boxing coaches?
Any advice Regarding Montreal boxing club/gym?

www.boxing.ca is the web site of the Canadian Amateur Boxing Assn. You can look up the province and see what gyms they have listed (contact names and phone numbers). You can even contact the provincial association and ask them for a recommendation.
