A brilliant career that validates why we love the sport so much, when special talents come along like Moore.

Always action packed in style and the sensational win over Macklin was simply a breath-taking performance from Jamie.

Whilst others may claim to have held versions of artificial "world" titles Moore's many victories for the British title and in claiming the European title count for a lot more IMO.

If there are concerns over health, then undoubtedly the right decision has been made.

All the best for the future and thanks for some great memories :box: :TU:

Hiya lads, thanks for all the great comments, again it's VERY much appreciated at a difficult time, coz as you can imagine i've been doing this for 18 years, so to know i'm not gonna do it again is weird, and very emotional, but i had to do it for my family's sake.

As a few people have mentioned, course i'm gonna keep posting, as i've said before on previous threads i'm a boxing FAN 1st and foremost, so i'll probably post even more now!!(Mrs permitting!!)

Thanks again to everyone, it really is a good feeling to know that all my efforts we're appreciated by the fans. :TU:

Nice one Jamie, take care. Have a bloody good break then come back and show the world what you can do as a trainer......

And I'd rather you than Nicky Piper or Glen McRory on that fornicating Sky Sports panel... :TU:

all the best Jamie, shame you didnt get that world title shot but as said it doesnt detract form the pleasure you gave "us" boxing fans.
Its a credit to you that no one i have copme accross on the boards has anythign bad to say about you, as a boxer or a person.

And for that at least makes you a beter man than many.

You can be proud of what you achieved good luck with the family and the training bud.

and THANK YOU.

Nothing much else to say here really as everyone seems to have summed it up magnificently!

All I would say is that your honesty and humility after the Rhodes fight will stay with me for a very long time.

Also, for you to take time to come on a boxing forum and chat to fans is further credit to yourself.

I hope you have made the money you deserve and I wish you all the best in whatever you do next.

The Macklin and Rhodes fights will live long in the memory.

All the best

2nd what everyone else is saying. I've met Jamie a couple of times, once when he was on the same bill as Derek Roche (I think) and once when he came to s show I was working at at Elland road. Both times I thought, what a nice fella he is.

Thanks for your help and advice in the gym Jamie, you are going to make a great coach. Your knowledge and love of the sport are second to none, you have had a great role model in Oliver and I am sure you will be as good a coach as him. I've not been around the sport long but I have watched a lot your fights on film and seen a few live and you have always entertained and put your heart into every fight. I am honoured to be able to say I have sparred a few rounds with you and I can honestly say I have learn't things from you that I will try and use in my fights. See you in the gym soon I hope, enjoy your rest :TU:

Enjoy retirement Jamie, you of all people have earned a well-deserved rest. Your fight with Matt Macklin is still one of the best fights I've seen and I hope we'll see a lot more of you still, especially as a pundit - always thought you were good on camera. Well done champ.

A few people have mentioned this today but only just realised it was true now Jamie was 1 of my main inspirations to getting into boxing properly when I was playing at it not taking it serious as I was always a big boxing fan and still am!!!
I remember the good old days watching Jamie win at the manchester Palace Thearte against Jimmy Steele then growing into a more expierienced fighter winning the british and commonwealth on short notice, these was great days and suddenly I turned professional and ended up training alongside Jamie who is as good a character inside the ring as outside!!
I am also lucky enough too share the dressing rooms on such occasions as the Macklin fight and Piccirrillo win, what more could a boxing fan ask for aswell as having a friend like Jamie Moore too these are highlights of my career!!
Thanks Champ for all the help and advice over the years also the body shots and uppercuts you landed on the times we sparred  Your are the Nigel Benn of our era a true warrior!! Thanks for the great memories Champ if you ever need a mobile punch bag to let some steam off you know where I am!! :TU:

from your number 1 fan mat

P.S. Maybe you can become the new Buncey Im sure you will be the same shape soon and you seem to have the same dress sense??

I also think you would make a great addition to the sky pannel I ave always found you as someone who's not afraid to tell the truth an your wit an carisma would come across really well on the tv.
Finally I was there for the macklin fight an I ave to see the bigest show of balls I've ever seen from the both of you true eye of the tiger stuff :box:

i watched the moore v macklin again last night. fvcking amazing fight. macklin was a beast in there, big strong guy making big rallies in every round, threatening to overpower moore, who tucked up and broke him down with short accurate shots. moore seemed to have so much in the tank that night, compared to the last couple of fights in his career. it's a shame this fight didn't carry him to something bigger.

to be remembered for fights like that must be good. it's like jamie moore made up for the sins of the previous domestic light middles, who didn't all fight each other when there was a demand for it, and instead went around draped in various plastic titles (having decent, not great, fights).
