That said, at least Khan did medal at the Olympics. What have any other British amateurs done recently? I think the ABA should acknowledge that point. Its a shame, Amateur boxing was on the up then bang droped to the bottom of the Shit heap.
If Amir had met Mario in the first round would we be looking at Khan in the same light as Courtny Fry and Andy Lee. Good boxers and 10 mins of fame but knowone knows who the hell they are.
Its the buisness of lies and all the rubbish that makes me mad. How does the rest of the UK squad feel about the way they treated Khan and themselves so different.
I would be outraged and probaly jealous but now I would think serve them right. They put all there eggs in one basket and they have all gone rotten!
On a positive its good to hear Liverpool will get 2008 Euro Championship,
so just over 2 and a half years to get a good all round squad that all deserve credit rather than one man!
If the ABA have to rely so heavily on one talented youngster then frankly they are dead already.
Why are no solid British amateurs coming through (on the world..or even european stage??). Why did NO other British boxers qualify for the Olympics?
Therein lies the problem, not Amir Khan. I suggest the ABA look into it and not hide behind the Amir Khan smokescreen.
