There are several web-sites reporting a story that on Friday 11th March, former three weight World Champion Alexis Arguello and former Welterweight World Champion Ricardo Mayorga were in an alcohol fueled street fight with each other. The storys indicated that both men were in a car when Arguello insulted Mayorga, who then immediately responded. The fight spilled out into the street until both men were separated by friends. It was also reported that in the end, it was Mayorga who came out on top. Arguello, a political figure and national hero in Nicaragua issued a statement through his assistant, Juana Carvajal. “We do not have information on the incident”.
Sounds like it was six of one half a dozen of another, from the way it's worded they were in the same car pissed up together when someone pushed their luck a bit.
Arguello must be in his 50's by now, no wonder Mayorga got the better of him.
