Hide is just about to compete in one of the CW fight tournaments they have in the UK. If he wins that it might be an ideal lead in to a fight with Danny. If green fought over there i reckon it would be pretty big news.
Hide is old, but I bet he can still bang. Their styles are similar which means it will probably be an early night one way or the other.
Hide looks like he's lost his punch. :( I've seen some of his more recent fights and he's not a patch on the fighter he used to be. I can't see Hide winning a World title. Green should have a relatively easy night with Hide.
I can't see Green fighting at 175 lbs at the moment. He's just not getting close enough to it. Is he building up to be a fully fledged cruiser? Maybe he could fight Silvio Branco, who has also moved up to cruiserweight and holds a victory over Manny Siaca.
Apparently Green has called out Tarver to fight him in the US for FREE. Tarver is another big name in the US and would command good PPV figures. Plus he still has some skills to pay the bills but is beatable.
Good positive fight if it is made, but if it is made will it be at LHW, or for that stupid IBO thing? If I were Greens adviser I would be strongly recommending him to drop down to LHW and go to look to clean the division, and ditch the joke belt.
Tarver wont return to the ring, he is a very good ring announcer for showtime.
I think set up a fight with B-Hop, he should taunt him a lot about what he did to Jones and what B-Hop couldn't do the US i think will be interested in that fight
I was speaking to an American the other day and he said Green has NO profile in the USA and that even his fight with RJJ was a mere footnote due to RJJ's recent slide and the fact it was a midweek fight with no live coverage. Danny Green creating interest in himself in the US might be harder than you think...

I had Sky News on as I was getting ready for work this morning and I thought I heard that Green was seriously looking to fight Tarver for free and had made an offer, I was in the other room so I may have not heard it correctly.
To show I am not blowing smoke up everyones arse I have found the link, I did hear correctly!!!!
By the way, what does Team Green mean by 'Viable opponents' in the 2nd paragraph? There are plenty of CW and LHW that will give Green a tough challenge! Why does'nt Green try and get Tavious Cloud out of hiding, that is a fight I want to be made.
Brute's favourite publication has it a little different, quoting Green as saying
Meanwhile, I'm putting up millions to get Roy Jones Jr here, offering to fight Antonio Tarver in the States for nothing more than Australian TV rights.

I agree about green struggling to make 175/79kg Asterix, but i think it would be an early KO victory to Green against Branco, however i entertained the idea of that fight after RJJ.
Green has not been past round 5 since late 2007 and a good strong and competitive fight is what he needs before he becomes soft. Paul briggs for me was going to be that fight, and i think Glen Johnson would be the best replacement if not more of a competitve fight.
I want to see Green also fight a up and coming "Hungry fighter before he retires.

Oh, for Chrisakes mate! Don't even joke about it! Gteen is about ten pounds over light heavyweight now and getting bigger. Cruiserweight is where he belongs.
Green beat Drews, who had taken the WBA light heavyweight title off Branco, so he has nothing to prove there.

gotta laugh at that... just about every other name has been thrown out there in the last 2 days!
hell i even threw valuev's name in there if he were to fight at heavy. i just want to see the massive size difference and see how much the mongrel in green would fare against the big lug, lol. be funny trying to watch him get in there and put one on the big guys chin.
have a look at this thread, everybody has an opponent for green, & they are all international & on the world stage, go greeny, at least he is not talkin crap,he is actually backin what he says

Whoo Nelly... I would'nt go that far!!!
I am saying first of all he has to get a world class opponent, then he has to beat him. Step one first!!! Danny is no Choc, Danny will step it up!

Stipe Drews came with a name.
Otis Griffin came with a name.
Jones Jnr came here on the back of a very special performance and one of the biggest names in boxing.
He's been very impressive since Mundine..very.
Stripe Drews what name was that? id say that would go down as one of the top 5 worst title defences ever!
Otis Griffin won a poor mans version of the contender dont ask me what it was called
and yes jones jr came off the back of a good fight but its safe to say he was finished and i dont know if he was even taking it for real he didnt even come out with a sweat up!
ill admit though he's beaten them all impressively but thats like homer simpson when he took up boxing.....boxcar bob!
Drews was the defending WBA Light heavyweight Champion, having won the title from Silvio Branco.
Griffin was WBO NABO LHW Champion and 18-1-2 going into the fight against Green. The loss was on points against Jimmy Mince in his debut. He KOed Mince in a later fight.
thank god danny is no "choc". & sayin roy jones is not world class, come on...... until danny ko'd jones no one knew how far roy had slipped, always easy to bag someone after the event, but leading up to the fight jones was pfp,the best fighter to walk the planet according to some, & green was still willing to test himself & have a go.
He should go after his number 1 challenger, I havent looked but believe it is Cunningham. I fight with Cunningham would be entertaining and a decent win would give him some profile in the US.

How so? If he was backing up his talk he would be fighting the best light heavweights and cruiserweights in the world right now, not Roy Jones and Manny Siaca.

Come on man, Griffin has never beaten anybody of note, the record means nothing.
well he did try pretty damn hard to get hopkins to come here but hopkins had no intention of coming here under any terms. and i don't care whether hopkins is 45 or 75 yo, there r very few other benchmarks atm at light heavy.
yes fighting siaca was pitifull i agree.
as far as fighting at cruiser, it is difficult for green to get a big enough opponent but also make it financially rewarding at the same time. most cruisers just simply don't have a big enough following to make a fight worth big bucks to green for the risk.
he would just be better off fighting tarver or if he can still get popkins, or go in the deep end and fight chad dawson who would be his toughest test.
I think i saw his fight with Mendoza and from memory i wasnt blown away, but remember him having some pretty good all round skills and i do think he could handle some good shots from Green. But he does sound hungry, shame he hasnt had a chance to land some bigger fights yet, i think it could be a pretty good contest. Might try and hunt down a couple more of his fights.
