Froch for me and it was an easy decision.
His wins over Dirrell and Pascal look fantastic considering what both have gone on to do.

Froch.
whos the best marketed is another question.

Ive gone for Haye, simply because he's cleaned out one division and now he's making his way through another and already has thwo good wins, and one cracking win.
The top three are head shoulders knees and toes knees and toes above the others at the moment though.

in terms of pure achievement, hatton. However he's probably retired, and his recent form hasn't looked too clever.
Re: Who's the best fighter in UK today
i'd say haye, the khan. But future great it put money on Special Kel
Re: Who's the best fighter in UK today
the 4 people who chose 'Dazzling' Darren Barker need to give there head a right good shake!
Re: Who's the best fighter in UK today
David Haye no question!!
Froch is a bit special but that Taylor fight sticks in my mind and his hard night against Magee too..

Who voted for barker!
Re: Who's the best fighter in UK today
Froch by a long way. He has fought and beat good opposition in his current division, and ducked nobody and not been protected in any way, something Haye and Khan cannot say.
Re: Who's the best fighter in UK today
haye. he was beating the likes of gurov, fragomeni, mormeck and maccarinelli (world class contender, future champ, and 2 current champs) before froch could even get a meaningful opponent.
but froch has fought some very hard fights, is still unbeaten, and if he wins that super 6 tournament i'll say he's the best. i actually think froch can win it, though i wonder what he can do afterward if he keeps taking loads of punishment.

Kevin Mitchell, his overall perfomances have been consistent and impressive.
Re: Who's the best fighter in UK today
i felt he did well to beat prescott, but prescott was coming off a loss and had been brought down to lightweight after saying he'd finished being a lightweight.
mitchell outboxed him but if i was to be unkind, i could say he ran the first half and hit prescott's gloves the 2nd half. it's a good start, he did land some good shots late on, but haye and froch are more proven in higher class.

Re: Who's the best fighter in UK today
Froch has been made to look average at best in his last two fights, he barely beat a green dirrell and was 10 seconds from being lost and forgotten by completely shot and now retired Taylor.hitman09 wrote:Froch by a long way. however if he beats Kessler convincingly i would have to agree that would make him the best fighter in britain.

Froch at present imo. Even though sometimes he struggles through some fights he has a great ability to pull out the win, its something that is born into the top fighters.
Haye and Khan obviously have the qualities but probably just need a couple of more career defining wins first before topping Froch.

Re: Who's the best fighter in UK today
I determine 'best' by excitement, action, big fights and hardest opponents.
Hatton is until he's officially retired, although not 'technically' I think he has. Two weight champion and ruled a very deep 140lb division. In his pomp he was hugely exciting and gave British boxing some huge fights to look forward to. He won against P4P Tyszyu then failed against P4P Mayweather & Pacquiao, no shame in aiming for the very best boxers walking the face of the earth !
With regards who's behind Ricky - it's between Froch and Haye.
I really like both guys and they each have their weaknesses that could potentially be exploited (Haye's was once) but they talk a good fight and are exciting when the bell rings.
You could pick holes in either man really, 'Froch lucky against Dirrell' or 'Valuev wasn't even top 100 p4p' and so forth but i'm just glad the pair of them are out there doing their thing. I'd say Haye has definitely won the most honours/titles but Froch is in a much harder division than the cruiser/heavy combined.
Whilst people debate who is best, i think thats good - because they are both still winning ! and whilst they continue to win, we will see them in more and more interesting fights.

Re: Who's the best fighter in UK today
The Super-Middles may have more strentgh in depth than Cruiser/Heavy combined, but they dont have two dominant champions who Haye is going to have to knock off their perch to even be considered undisputed
Re: Who's the best fighter in UK today
For me it is a tossup between Haye and Froch. As Gomez said you can pick holes in both. I'd be interested in revisiting this topic in about a year and a halves time. By then hopefully Haye will have had a crack at one or both of the Klitschko's and the Super Six tournament should have given us a conclusion (i think).
I think in that time Kevin Mitchell will also have accomplished some things which will give him reason to claim the best fighter in the UK. I'm a believer in Mitchell and think he will win a world title one day.
