I quite like the way these things are presented.

I hope they didn't get those stats from HBO.

They had Edison Miranda listed as 6'0" and Bute at 6'2". Miranda is listed pretty much everywhere else at 5'10" and as soon as they squared up for the referee's instructions it was clear Bute had a huge height advantage. The punchstat numbers were a joke on HBO too, at one point part of the way through a round they had Bute at 60 punches, I'v just checked the compubox numbers now and Bute didn't through more than 45 total punches in any of the rounds.

Froch is about 6 foot tall and Kessler is slightly smaller / shorter.

I dont think Carl is 6'1 - he's just under.

I'd say Carl is easily 6 foot 1, I've stood next to him and I'm 6 2.5 exactly, and he was only a whisker under my eye level.

Carl has a massive reach advantage considering how similar the other stats are, 78 is huge for a guy his height, for someone 6 foot dead 72 is normal - it's normally the same as your height.

He probably had his cuban heels on and his barnet spiked up. He is 6 foot tall :D

Id say Kessler is 5'11.5

Carl's reach varies a lot depending where you read it. I can believe he has a very long reach compared to his height tho because just looking at him he appears to have long arms.

It says his reach is 76. Still the longest in the tournament though, at least I think.

Froch is overrated due to his lack of defense and how easy he is to hit, this ultimately will be his downfall as his punch resistance, his main asset, starts to diminsh. You can't keep on taking big shots the way he does, especially not at world level as it will eventually lead to a KO loss. Be it this fight or his next it will happen soon enough.

I'm a big fan of Froch but I agree with every word of this. Apart from the 'overrated' bit in my case seeing as I agree with the rest of the post!

And with Kessler followed by Abraham he is going to get hit with his share of heavy shots sooner rather than later.

I agree as well, and I've also said similar before. As Deadendgeneration says, fighting Kessler and then Abraham is not a good idea if you've got poor defence. It'll certainly be interesting for us fans, though. I think Froch has a very good chance on Saturday.

The thing is with Froch despite looking so open at times he always finds a way to win.
I think its mainly due to his natural strength as simple as that.
kesslers the better rounded boxer but Carl will find a way. He always does :box:

i think Froch tries to use his reach/distance as his defence but has been shown that doesnt work with people with good movement, he has shown signs of improving this tho, saturday will de good i cant wait

The longer the fight goes on - the more big shots Froch will have to absorb.
But I wouldn`t be at all surprised though if Froch gets Kessler out of there quite early ... the more I watch kesslers last two fights, the more he looks a shot fighter .. who was never as good as most made him out to be :-?

The Abraham fight will probably be the start of a rapid decline in Froch, simply because he will be absorbing big shots for the full 12rnds.

I said at the start of this tournament that this super6 will ruin Froch. I stand by every word.

He has been shaken and dropped since he stepped up in class. And there is more to come :-?

Abraham is quite short compared to Froch though.
If Froch puts his boxing head on for that fight and uses his reach and doesnt let him near enough then he should be ok in my opinion.
Got to get past Kessler first though.
I still think Froch wins the tournament myself.

The words "underrated" and "overrated" are constantly misused on these forums. Pretty much everyone recognises Froch's weaknesses as they are glaringly obvious. How exactly is he overrated? Who is saying he's this amazing fighter?

Yeah I think your Mystic Meg like prediction of Froch finding it more difficult as he fights better fighters is kind of how it always works out.
