Title Agreement

Post by Neri »

'In a phone conference this morning, WBC chief Jose Sulaiman and promoter Bob Arum reached an agreement to make Morales-Pacquiao for the WBC International super feather title.'

This should add some prestige to the contest then

this is so laughable, the International title is supposed to be for boxers ranked outside the top10 of a division, who ranks Morales outside the top 10 super feathers? Pacman could arguably rank outside as he hasn't fought at the weight

Why are the boxers agreeing to this as well, as i suppose they will have to pay a sanctioning fee.

Here's how the call went (allegedly)

Bob Arum : How are you for cash Jose? I mean, the whole bankrupct thing must have put a dent in the coffers.

Jose Suliaman: Bit strapped for cash to tell the truth, come to think of it, i'm fornicating brassic!

BA: Tell you what Joey lad, i've got a fight here with no belt on the line, fancy earning yourself a couple of quid?

JS: Nice one Robby! I'll put some 'international' piece of shit on the line, one of them gets a title, I charge 'em for the privilege, jobs a good 'un!

BA: Sound!

I think that you in some US states need a title before you can box a 12 rounder, but its already an IBA title fight, so who knows....
