Venues in Manchester (central) showing the Froch fight?
Venues in Manchester (central) showing the Froch fight?
Am heading to Manchester with a group of lads next weekend so am hoping to find somewhere local to watch the Froch fight. Can anybody recommend a couple of venues that will show it and does anybody know how easy/difficult it is for pubs to get the rights to show Primetime broadcasts? Cheers.

Still have nothing on this so bumping it up in the hope that somebody can help. Cheers.

I'll check up on a couple of places that may be showing it but when you say 'a group of lads' how many are you talking about as i doubt you'd get into the places i'm thinking about with 15 or 20 guys in tow for obvious reasons so best to space it out.johnswan1 wrote:Am heading to Manchester with a group of lads next weekend so am hoping to find somewhere local to watch the Froch fight. Cheers, thanks very much. It's actually a stag, but it won't be a rowdy bunch. Can head there in groups of 2-4 if necessary.

Ok cool...get back to you in a bit

Just checked up...
They said there was a lot of requests for it and tried to get it but its only for Home Viewing, not being licensed to be shown in Public Bars even though they were willing to pay a lot of money for it as boxing always brings in the crowds for them.
If thats true then Fcuking Primetime....absolute poop and no one is gonna watch it so Froch should stop whining like a bitch when his fights get no attention! When i watched the last 2 Haye fights at this venue, there were like 2 thousand people for both fights!
Pavlik did the same thing with his last PPV....stopped any Bar in Youngstown from showing his fight and there has been a backlash against him for that.
Not sure what to recommend....maybe a bar could still show it without a license?....if your staying in a hotel it might mean ordering it there and watching it in your hotel room, fight will probably be over by 11pm so you'd still have loads of drinking time in Manchester.

That's dreadful. I had a feeling they may not have been set up for pub shows. I hope this is not the case but it seems like it.

To be fair local blackouts like the Pavlik example are not uncommon especially in Vegas, and from a promoters POV they do need to sell their arenas out.exittored wrote:Just checked up...

This is a different issue though this is about Primetime not having the capabilities (technical, legal, business or otherwise) to provide public establishments with a service that is obviously in demand.
