Froch vs Kessler a TV theory.

Post by stujones »

Well its great news that primetime have got a studio and UK commentary team on this fight - but I cannot help thinking.

John Rawling and Duke McKenzie - voices of boxing on ITV.

Darren Barker - ITV regular pundit.

Andy Kerr - worked with ITV after Setanta folded.

I wonder if there is a secret deal to show this on delayed on ITV - not to be officially announced until after people have paid for the PPV. It would be a great way to plug the up coming Khan vs Malignaggi fight on the station if those rumours are true

Not as if it such a deal hasn't happened before and HS sports and Primetime kept quiet until after the live broadcast (Froch vs Dirrell had a similar deal).

It wouldn't be surprising, though remember-they would all be freelance journalists (except Barker, natch) so could theoretically work for anyone, and picking the ITV crew was the easiest, and best option. But yeah, it wouldn't exactly be a surprise if the fight turns up on ITV4 next saturday at the last minute.

For the sake of £14.95 though, I'd much rather pay up to watch it live and allow Froch get his cut. He deserves every penny he gets.
