Maccarinelli fight - TV.

Post by stujones »

Just wondering if any TV is covering this bill - I aint talking UK but foreign channels. Will there be a chance Eurosport might show this on delayed. It looks a really good bill actually.

Boxrec have no TV listing for it and I done a 'boxing' search on a TV guide and nothing came up mentioning any of Maccarinelli's card, live or delayed.

No it ain't on TV. No seems to be interested in the fight......Which is a shame. :-?

This is a real hard fight for Enzo. I would of liked to see him retire. I feel he may not be ready for a European Title shot, he got the shot for beating two Journyman.

Recently every time he fights a good operator, he's getting seriouly hurt, which is worrying.

I reallly hope Enzo can pull it off do, such a nice bloke. Good Luck, Enzo. :TU:

Possibly true, yes.

But looking at his recent results (except V the tomato cans) he has lost all his fights against notable opponents.

Watching him get beat up against Lebedev, it really was a feeling of "this is the end."

Now he's challenging for the European title!

Yeah, true- and I'm not dissing him.

But I do think that it is the case that he is being brought in as "the opponent" - a guy with a good record on paper, who is very "beatable" for the hometown boy.

But yeah, let's hope Enzo proves them wrong.

but to be honest, I can't see him lasting more than 5 rounds. If he can get through this to a points decision (win or lose) there will be opportunities for him.

Former WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli faces a daunting trip – and a daunting task – when he makes his way to Russia to face local puncher Alexander Kotlobay for the vacant European cruiserweight title tomorrow night (April 27).
Big Macc, who has yet to regain the form he showed prior to a two-round mauling from David Haye in London in 2008 when he dropped his WBO belt, takes on a man with all the advantages in recent form and geography. Kotlobay has won his last 12 (eight early) since he was outscored by a Dane in Denmark in 2006, shades of Carl Froch over the weekend, and fights in his home city of Saint Petersburg, where he has never lost. (On this note, I cannot think of a single British fighter who has ever won a fight in Russia, certainly not a big fight.)
Maccarinelli can whack so he stands a puncher’s chance, but Kotlobay whacks himself and looks the fresher, more ambitious man of the two. Maccarinelli has scaled the heights and is now climbing down; Kotlobay is still on the climb and the sky is the limit. It goes without saying the Russian is the pick.

There is some footage of Kotlobay, he has the longer hair of the two. Not sure who his opponent is but he sure likes his dinner and a pint.

I know everything's stacked against Enzo in this fight but I for one really hope he pulls it off. He's had an awful run recently but strikes me as a really nice guy who deserves luck to go his way. I wouldn't bet on it though...
