I interviewed him when he was about 14-0. Really nice guy.

Don't know what has happened to him now though, I guess the step up glass against that Cedric Boswell knocked the heart out of him :(

Remember when he was fighting in Monte Carlo - some of us went out to a club - who walks in but Roman Greenburg - not sure whether it was 2 nights before or the night before his fight.

The guy had talent in my view but no discipline.

Dead right.

Roman was just too lazy & lackadaisical to make it in boxing at the highest level.

Completely agreed - said at the time - but if you ask the team they reckon he couldnt get down to Cruiser - I am not so sure!!

He was also KO'd several times in sparring by the likes of Michael Sprott and David Haye.

He has skills but no chin, no discipline and a team telling him he was going to be the billion dollar heavyweight.

The major reasons for him 'not being able' to get down to crusierweight were bagels, matzah balls, and an aversion to hard work, in my opinion.

100% accurate.

'Fat' is a bit harsh and though he didn't look like Ronnie Coleman he looked allright at 16 stones - you might have got a stone off him and got him down to 15 stones but anymore than that? I couldn't see it.

Nothing to do with his physique - he just wasn't good enough, Toney is a fat middleweight but can beat top class heavyweights - people pay far too much attention to how someone looks when - as to quote Donald Sutherlands character
in the dirty dozen 'can they fight?'

Tony Tubbs was always 2-3 stone overweight most of his career but could fight and won the WBA heavyweight title. And why fight cruiserweight when the money isn't there in comparison to the heavyweights?

A good example of a fighter whos looks / weight are deceiving is an MMA fighter called Roy 'Big Country' Nelson who is one of the best heavies in the UFC at the moment and has been world champ in other organisations before the UFC.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Nelson_(fighter)

He has a good sized gut and looking at him you would never think he would have what it takes to last a minute in a top level fighting sport but he has great movement, hand speed and awareness.

He has fought some top level fighters and never overly gassed even after 15-20 mins of fighting MMA.
