Even if it doesn't happen, all credit to Froch for keeping in shape and being ready and willing to fight magee. Don't know what is in this for Magee though. Unless he wins of course

Christ, I'd be amazed. Brave decision by both parties to go ahead. Still a step up for Froch, especially at short notice, but he hits hard enough to knock Magee down, and unlike Reid, I think he will finish him off if he hurts him.

I'm a bit confused with Froch, is he still signed with Hennessy or De la Hoya?

or is Hennessy his manager and De la hoya his promoter?

Hennessy is still his manager/promoter, but he (Hennessy) has a deal with Golden Boy. At least that's how I interpreted it. Golden boy have agreed I guess to promote the fighters in America.

To some intents you could say that means that Hennessy is promoter in name only I guess, but I think he's still their promoter of record.

Thanks James, i'm a bit clearer on it now.

I can see some big arguements coming up between Hennessy and De la Hoya if Froch hits the bigtime.

Magee should take the fight, for his own sake.

If he has any sense he must realise that losing this fight will mean nothing to his career, he already lost to reid and if anything the loss may mean he is selected by beyer as a risk free voluntary WBC defence, a la Starie with ottke.

Magee, unless he is afraid of froch, has no valid reason for turning the fight down. When the hell else is he going to headline on sky sports in his home country for a decent purse?

Very true Riddick, I wish more fighters would think like that. Losing can open up so many doorways in this era of fradulent champs.

He bloody well should. Its his best chance he'll ever have beating Froch - he holds all the aces.

No doubt we'll here some bullshit excuse how he's not mentally right now after the pullout. He did shit it from a fight with Barbosa after all.

christ, that's a great point, and possibly the biggest reason the fight will probably not happen.

Why would allegedly headline and pay two guys who aren't even involved with him.

What say does Frank get in this? Might he refuse to put on the fight, even if both parties want it? He'd be a terrible villain to the paying irish public if he stepped in and called it off, what excuse would he make up?
