So, I see pencilled in as guzman's next fight mark johnson
WHAT??!!!
Johnson if I remember rightly is a flyweight, or super flyweight at most. Guzman is a murderous punching, big super bantamweight/featherweight. On top of that, johnson is shot and coming straight off a KO loss at super fly!
Why have they, and how can they, make this match???
Why on Earth is Guzman fighting Mark Johnson

Hmm...
Johnson isn't shot. Not at his best, but not 'shot'.
Guzman was suppose to fight Larios but Larios found a way to pull out of it. They want to keep Guzman busy and Johnson is a name fighter that's willing to fight him.
You won't see W.C. asking for Guzman!

Re: Hmm...
In his last fight johnson seemed in control early but his legs went as the fight progressed, Could have been weight making problems, a guy of his age must find it hard to get down to superfly/bantam.Unknown wrote:Johnson isn't shot. Not at his best, but not 'shot'.

If thats the case , then he might be able to be competitive against Guzman. If on the other hand it was just his age catching up with him then he's in for a beating

No Johnson isn't shot but was no Bantamweight, let alone a Super Bantamweight - Horrible match up. Johnson got beaten up by Marquez in the rematch - what will a huge Super Bantam do.
Its a shame, because I still think (like I do with McCullough) there is a world title left in Johnson at his natural weight. He lost to Hernandez, but it was an absolute barnstormer of a contest (fight of the year?). I think that fight signalled the arrival of Hernandez as opposed to the end of Johnason. I would love to see a rematch, if it was a PPV over here - I would pay.
