heres the ending of his fight with johnny gonzalez
That's some decent power he has there :o - Molito and him would be interesting with both of them being lefties too.

Does he normally despatch fighters like that?
He carries quite a bit of power in his left hand alright, the scary thing for me though in that Gonzalez fight was not that Nishioka starched Gonzalez(afterall Jhonny is fragile) but that he was actually able to compete with Jhonny in terms of trying to box aswell and Gonzalez is as good as anyone in the business when it comes to boxing. I really feel sorry for Jhonny and him being so fragile to both body and head, if not for that he'd be a top 5 p4p fighter imo, he's really that good.

But Molitor wouldn't stand a chance with Nishioka, after the early boxing stages where Molitor may be able to compete with him technically he'd feel the power and would get blown away. Molitor would be a much better option for Munroe if they could get it, but I don't think they will. I fully expect Munroe to go over to Japan and take on Nishioka.

Rendall will fight for the WBC world title in his next fight and do you not think you should all get behind him. He has won the right to fight he had a long hard road to get there but he is finaly there now. So get behind him and stop knocking him.

Yeah, good luck to him. :TU:

As a fairly dominant European Champ, it's certainly valid that he gets a World shot.

Stopped too early but Rendell did very well. I had him losing the first four then winning the rest. It was great how he broke him down.

Now for the Jap, who I have never seen.

Is he any good then?

no he wouldn't, jesus, Munroe's so much more solid, IMO, than Hunter was by the time he fought Molitor. oh, and Molitor has really declined, too, judging by the fact that he struggled to get past NDou who he had easily, easily taken apart 3 years ago

Frank, I don't know why you don't think people are getting behind him on here, the response to the win on Friday was uniformly that few fighters deserve a shot as much as Munroe and everyone was just really happy for him and the win.

everybody is getting behind him!!!! it's just the fact he is a massive underdog and 99% of people are saying he will lose, which is fair enough..it doesn't mean there not supporting him, rendall is a working class hero imo

Munroe has earned his shot, so it's just a matter of time before it all slots into place.

After a slow and indecisive start, I was thinking "uh oh, Munroe isn't effective in this class" but what a turn around. He just got better and better until Terrazas folded. Agree with ForceFraser, that the stoppage was premature.

Good luck to Munroe, a great story.

It would be great if he could get his shot in Leicester, but it doesn't come any bigger than a WBC title shot, and if he has to travel, then so be it.

Gotta agree with the last couple of posts here. The greater majority all support Rendall. The only point is he's got a tough assignment to win the title. Most others and I will be wanting Rendall to win. He's a top bloke too judging by his interviews.

Your answer was obvious,

He's probably not the MOST underrated but he is definitely one of them.

What he did to Terrazas was exactly what he would of done to your man Dunne without question.

haha, gotcha

t b h mate as a west midlander, i have this kindof patronising refusal to acknowledge the rivalries of the east midlands

for example, apparently Coventry really hates brum- i found this out living there a few years- on the other hand, Brum thinks literally nothing about Cov. they are below us and we don't condescend to grace them or promote them by giving them 'rival' status'.

but now you mention it i s'pose Cov-Leics might get a bit shirty.

i think it's great that he's put the EBU level behind him. this is something that cannot be taken for granted. many feel that waiting too long for the EBU is what cost jamie moore, a fighter every bit as good as munroe.

and it's great that he's got BOTH WBC elims out of the way. munroe is a man who's earned his world title shot. and i'm sure that whoever wins, it will be an outstanding action fight with nishioka.

apparently nishioka looked good today, knocking out a filipino prospect on the hasegawa-montiel undercard. with nishioka getting his opponents out of there, and munroe scoring a surprise stoppage, there really could be some fireworks.

i hope sky support munroe-nishioka, especially if it ends up in japan.

Thanks,

Well the question wasn't is he one of the most underrated, it was whether he was the most underrated.
There's quite a lot of people on others forums(ESB) of the belief he's going to go over to Japan and do exactly what he did to Terrazas, to Nishioka. Now not everyone believes this, some believe he'll get dominated by the Japanese fighter but all things considered I figure Munroe is ranked at where he should be. People have respect for him as a good European champion, but let's be honest here, he's no Michael Brodie.
He's a better European champion than Michael Hunter was and he'd have beaten Hunter when Hunter was in his prime, but that doesn't mean he's up there with the likes of Brodie and Spencer Oliver.

How do you think he'll do against Nishioka, Mark ?, I assume you're of the belief the fight will go the same way as the Terrazas fight.

I'm not going to comment much on Dunne vs Munroe btw(especially since one man has retired) because this thread could get needlessly sidetracked. But I'll just state I disagree.

we'll see. brodie and oliver were a bit more classy in the technical department.

but munroe has his own stubborn way of doing things and - despite the reservations of many, incl me - keeps proving himself, keeps nudging his game up an extra level.

he's doing this pretty quickly for a british fighter, which has to be encouraging.
