kessler is a bigger puncher.

True - he has chinned who exactly?

Miranda= Chinny
Elcock=Chinny
Taylor=Chinny

He hits hard but he is not Julian Jackson.

He doesn't have to be. He is still a very big puncher with one punch KO power. The question in his bouts is if he will be able to land those big punches. Against Dirrell he was facing a slick boxer and was unable to do this until he dropped him in the tenth. In Froch he is not facing a slick boxer, he is fighting a face first brawler who soaks up tons of shots in all of his bouts. There is no way Froch can let himself get caught routinely with power punches from Abraham. That is why he is going to have to adjust his game plan if he wants to win.

By the way, can you explain the scenario in which Froch wins a shutout. How would he win the rounds and how would he manage to do so while not giving up one or two.

he KO'd miranda when he didn't get anything near full power on his shots. and not only did taylor end up on the ground, he looked like he'd been nailed to it.

abraham is a nasty puncher.

I don`t see what the fuss is about Abraham. He is not that special. Ok, he is a tough as boots and hits hard, but he can be outboxed and he can be hurt at Super Middle, no doubt.

His crude style and lack of workrate was exposed big time againts Dirrell. Froch stands a good chance of beating him.

Given it`s in Germany (let`s be honest here, the fight is going to Berlin) and Sauerland need Abraham in the semi`s, Froch will have to knock him out to get the win. I reckon he can do it.

Has AA ever been knocked out????
Wasnt Froch on the floor from Taylor???
Unless Froch suddenly learns how to keep his hands up then hes screwed.
He doesnt even listen to his corner.
I remember writing years ago that Froch was a train wreck waiting to happen.
But he fooled me also because he somehow always got the win up to this point.
If Froch loses to AA in devastating fashion then his career could be over

Wasn`t Abraham on the floor againbst Dirrell??

It makes no difference what happened to who against different fighters. It`s the fight between Abraham ans Froch that matters. Abraham can definately be hurt and Froch can hurt him.

Froch has certainly earned his spurs and it doesn't look like AA is the second coming of Ali
x2

Abraham is limited with a big punch, Froch began to rely too much on power and a good chin and quite rightly lost IMO. I think he wil come back strong and beat Abraham, and I hope it's in the UK

I had a bad feeling for Froch/Kessler, and now a worse feeling for the Abraham fight.

Unless Froch learns how to put his hands up.

Woodhall was hanging around Froch's training camp on a fairly regular basis I believe, due to his involvement with the Ama boxers froch was training with.

Froch is like Matthew Saad Muhammad in some ways & I fear he's going to end up like him, in that you can only take punishment for so long, before it starts to impact on you in a bad way.

As happened with Kessler, he has already failed to rally back after taking heavy shots from an opponent.

The next time it could be a whole lot more painful for him.

I keep thinking that he needs to alter his fight style, but he is now in his 33rd year & that simply is not going to happen now.

the laugh is, Syntax, that i continually see people saying 'if only Carl would go back to his jab and skills', as though he's ever shown them for a prolonged period in a fight.

Into the semi-finals, along with Kessler, Abraham and Ward - provided Ward beats Dirrell and Green & Kessler beats Green too.

Good points.....you can just see it, a warrior who ends up on end of a few one-sided beatdowns as his powers of recovery and chin start to diminish, a la Wayne McCullough......

He could end up taking too many. Wayne never knew when to stop, I hope Carl does in 2/3 fights, maybe less unless he starts to take notice and defend himself as his reflexes start to slow down.

But as you said, if he hasn't learnt now, will he ever....?

AA was never hurt against Dirrell though, he leaned back and got nailed and sent to the canvas off balance, clean KD, but not hurt. Froch was legitmatly hurt by Taylor and rocked by Dirrell. I see AA hurting Froch easier than Froch can hurt him. Plus his defense is better than Froch's so he probably won't get hit as much.

Froch has failed to knock out three of the four world class opponents he has faced and it took him to the very end to get rid of Taylor. What makes you think he will KO an opponent who has never been in any serious trouble (unlike Dirrell, Pascal, and Taylor)?

Yeah and you're not even mentioning the broken jaw he had when he beat Miranda the first time.

Froch certainly has the beating of Abraham. Simply because Abraham does very little for the most part of a fight.

Saying that - I see a Abraham KO-ing Froch. Froch was genuinly staggered in the 8th by Kessler. Look at the replay, Froch`s legs stiffened up and he backed off very clearly.
And the point of Froch not carrying his power into world class is very much obvious now, not once did he have Pascal, Dirrel or Kessler on wobbly legs. And Taylor did what was expected and gassed it in the last few rounds which was a bigger factor in getting stopped than any real KO punch power off Froch.
And the worrying part is that Froch has been wobbled by each of these guys :-?

If Froch can get away from thinking he is this destructive one punch hitter - and concentrate on boxing Abraham, then I think he can steal a decision .. where ever the fight takes place.

Longer reach. decent movement when he wants to use kit AND naturally much bigger than ABS.

Froch was a very good amatuer, he will adopt different tactics and as long as not in Germany...He wins on points...wide!!!

i think an avalanche of 100+ power shots also helped to stop taylor, not to mention getting a bit of belief late in the fight and the desperation he must have been feeling.

froch did rock pascal and didn't he hurt kessler in the final round?

froch certainly hits hard and can take a shot.

All I know is - this should be another hell of a fight invovling Froch.

Froch may not be as talented or as good as Joe Calzaghe.

But for entenrtainment and guts and integrity and value for money - he is much better than Calzaghe.
