Fancy Chavez to win this , think hes a decent enough fighter and improving all the time
gets a bit of a hard time due to the fact he Dad was a legend and obviously looks to be getting promoted on the back of that ,
Dont think hes as bad as some make out on the forums

Aye thats logical - I hope they ignore this fight with Morel-Arce and Barrera on the undercard and maybe they'll plough their cash into Chris Edwards-Usman Ahmed II!!!bfchunk wrote:I hope sky spend their money on a better fight than this junk. it's a shame that fighters of this calibre are able to make more money than more talented campaigners, but that's how it is, sometimes.
honestly, would any of you fancy either of those over, say, afif belgecham?

why is it a shame? is it a shame that a good guy with an exciting aggressive style that is pretty much always in a slugfest earns a bit of cash. Not from my perspective it aint.Autobarn wrote:it's a shame that fighters of this calibre are able to make more money than more talented campaigners, but that's how it is, sometimes.

Boxing isn't just a sport is entertainment - some bring it, some don't - those that do should be rewarded!!
Nice to see that Belgacham is now being lauded as some kind of hero since he tore Barker a new 'Schmicetesque' shaped hole - if Duddy had performed like that he would have been accused of being a bum by a variety of myopic tools!
Re: John Duddy v Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr. - June 26 in Texas
not at all re belgecham. all i'm saying is he maybe beat barker, and hurt lee at the end.
so i wonder how duddy would do vs belgecham, who i'd favour after his 2 noteworthy losses.
ave duddy or chavez jr ever shown any incination to fight anyone decent?

They're not tattoos. It's just the poster design.
This should be a cracking fight. It will be interesting to see how Chavez looks in his first fight under Freddie Roach.

Appartently Freddie will be trying to get Chavez to box instead of brawl. Will Duddy let him box is the question. I honestely think Duddy stops him late after a slugfest.johnswan1 wrote:They're not tattoos. It's just the poster design.

Duddy wanted to fight Pavlik and was one decent performance against Schmicet away from getting his wish, so how is that not showing "shown any incination (sic) to fight anyone decent"?Autobarn wrote:not at all re belgecham. all i'm saying is he maybe beat barker, and hurt lee at the end.

Howard Eastman isnt as good as Belgacham, even an old Eastman would win that fight. You do talk some rot.

I hope Chavez has had enough time to get the drugs out of his system !
I hate cheats so for that reason alone I hope Duddy gives him a whooping.

come on, man. duddy isn't very good and he's basically fought no one with form. and his big, big fight is vs pee wee chavez.slapbangwhallop wrote:Duddy wanted to fight Pavlik and was one decent performance against Schmicet away from getting his wish, so how is that not showing "shown any incination (sic) to fight anyone decent"?Autobarn wrote:not at all re belgecham. all i'm saying is he maybe beat barker, and hurt lee at the end.

what's the point bringing up typos, on a forum? does that make you feel in a superior position or something.
duddy v chavez jr is a bit of a joke fight, though it could be entertaining. of course they deserve to make their money, especially as their names sell tickets. but in another era they would probably be clubfighters.
you never know, winner might get an absolute humiliating beating from sergio martinez. i think ryan rhodes would have both of them.

Sebastian Zbik is being lined up for the winner according to the Ring article above.
"Bob Arum, promoter of Chavez and Duddy, said the winner of the June 26 clash will be in line to fight Germany’s Sebastian Zbik for an interim 160-pound title"

Duddy will never be fighting Ryan Rhodes, he is a light middleweight who had an unsuccesful spell at middleweight a decade ago and Duddy is a middleweight who can't and won't make 154.Autobarn wrote:

neither Duddy or JCCJ will ever fight at LMW from now on - but whats the point in bursting Autobarns bubble of ignorance!Deno1986 wrote:Duddy will never be fighting Ryan Rhodes, he is a light middleweight who had an unsuccesful spell at middleweight a decade ago and Duddy is a middleweight who can't and won't make 154.Autobarn wrote:

p.s. Duddy KO7 The Ultimate Hype Job Barker
Re: John Duddy v Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr. - June 26 in Texas
well does anyone care to clarify the weight siutation? i thought the WBC wanted JCCjr in their light middle rankings and that duddy was moving down. ok there were problems getting the weight down, recently.slapbangwhallop wrote:neither Duddy or JCCJ will ever fight at LMW from now on - but whats the point in bursting Autobarns bubble of ignorance!Deno1986 wrote:Duddy will never be fighting Ryan Rhodes, he is a light middleweight who had an unsuccesful spell at middleweight a decade ago and Duddy is a middleweight who can't and won't make 154.Autobarn wrote:

neither duddy nor chavez jr will ever be anything at middleweight. martinez is also the middleweight champ, duddy and chavez jr are names/hype jobs that bring in some money, so perhaps martinez could batter one of them into humiliating defeat.
zbik would appear to be a level above chabez jr and duddy, and i don't rate him. would the fight end up in germany?
why do irish posters get so defensive?
i'll give the irish this, though, they often have a very poetic writing style and for me they write the best mystery novels (macgilloway, connolly).
