Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May
Does anyone else find it strange that with three weeks to go, no venue has been confirmed and no tickets have gone on sale for this fight?

Re: Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May
I would find that strange, Sculder and Mulley would as well
Re: Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May
I believe Fury is doing his best to avoid this fight.
Just for arguement's sake, I had the first fight 98-92 to guess who?
Not Fury.

Should be a good fight. Do people give Fury more, or less of a chance to be victorious this time ?
Personally I think Brian Hughes may have had an impact by now and the top sparring in Germany will definitely have brought Fury on.
Whilst inactivity on McDermott's part may be a hindrance to some extent.
A deserved rematch that will hopefully put it to bed.

I don't think Fury will underestimate the McDermott this time, or even overestimate his own skills.
Not sure about a stoppage, but think Fury will win by 4-5 rounds.

I still don't see this fight happening. Just got that feeling. I don't think Fury could have improved enough in the short amount of time to beat McDermott, but it could only take 1 punch I guess.
I'd go with McDermott UD. I thought he won the first fight by a good 4 rounds.

I think Fury to win this one by a few rounds. No underestimating Mcdermott this time and he will come through this test.
Re: Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May
I think Fury will win this time. I can see it going the distance again. 97-93 to the 'Great White Hope'
Re: Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May
If a 25-5, nine year pro and English champion and British title contender can't beat a 9 fight novice during the 9 fight novice's first ten rounder, then I don't him much chance at the second attempt. McDermott has been given far too much credit in this fight. He may not have lost by the margin O'Conner concocted, but still lost a close one. He had all the advantages but still failed.
Fury will have benefited from his first ten rounder and takes it again.

I agree. The novice should improve and he probably did underestimate McDermott. Can McDermott improve? I did think he won the first fight but I think this one will be clear for Fury.THEBUTCH wrote:If a 25-5, nine year pro and English champion and British title contender can't beat a 9 fight novice during the 9 fight novice's first ten rounder, then I don't him much chance at the second attempt. Re: Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May
i find it really quite staggering that people are backing Tyson Fury to win this after the lesson Mcdermott saved him when slapping him around the ring and taking the fight to a knackered Fury and teaching that boy not to call him a muffin..........it smacks a bit of, oh, Mcdrmott's been around a bit but Fury is the great prospect coming through so I expect he'll be too good for Mcdermott.....
bullsh*t....Fury wasn't that fit looking the first time, he looked like he was having a little snooze on John's shoulders half way through the fight.....whay's he going to be so good this time.
I expect John Mcdermott to have trained like a demon for this fight. I expect him to knock Tyson Fury out, and that will be the end of that.

Re: Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May
Fury has a better team behind him now, he seems to be spending more time in the gym and less in magazines. If you listen to any interview his gives about that fight I think its clear he learned a valuable lesson. McDermott had one of the performances of his life. While he may have joined McDonnel's stable since, his previous trainer halted their partnership citing a lack of belief and effort following some tremendous disappointment in terms of scoring. I can understand why people tip Fury for the return fight and I would have to agree with them. Having said that I tipped Fury to out-box and out-point Big John widely last time around so what do I knowNorthEastBoxingFan wrote:i find it really quite staggering that people are backing Tyson Fury to win this after the lesson Mcdermott saved him when slapping him around the ring and taking the fight to a knackered Fury and teaching that boy not to call him a muffin..........it smacks a bit of, oh, Mcdrmott's been around a bit but Fury is the great prospect coming through so I expect he'll be too good for Mcdermott.....
