Brett Flournoy beating Joey Selkirk was a real shocker. Selkirk seemed a bit flat, understandable after the Webb fight.
Nicky McDonald was top-class as ever and Grant-Cox was a good little scrap.
Shitty venue though – aircraft hanger. I have to say I honestly didn't hear the boo's aimed at Amir Khan.

They showed rounds 3 and 4 of Grant v Cox.

I thought Nick McDonald was very impressive for a 21yr old. Nelsons' Bradford fans weren't so keen though, what a rough bunch.

Yes. from what I saw on the BBC it did look a good fight.

BBC only showed round 3 & 4 which was dissapointing. Round 3 was Cox's best round, very strong in that but Grant was ahead after the first two rounds and then came back well in the fourth. In my view Grant deserved the win but Cox is a real talent and will achieve great things if he continues the way he is at the moment. Totally deserved the best prospect award he was presented with.

It was a shock Selkirk losing the way he did, I believe he was only one point down going into that last round. Bad day in the office, what a shame for him but it happens and he'll learn from it and be back I'm sure. McDonald was formidable, a real force to be reckoned with. Dickinson was really giving a good account of himself against Bellew before he was sparked. Another young talent who'll be back soon no doubt.

Yeah, Dickenson looked terrific until he got caught twice (looked like the punches landed on the temple).

Grant came back superbly after taking some crunching shots from Cox in the third. Michael's the rightful ABA champion. Didn't think much of Khan's comments afterwards. Grant stuck with it (the ABA's) right the way through and I doubt he gets much funding either.

He's been treated really badly by the ABAE who cut his funding when he wanted to move up to 64kg. They said he hadn't proved himself at that weight. He then asked to go in the boxoffs at 64kg and they said no. He went out to Sweden with his club to a box cup beat the Swedish champion and won best boxer award at his new weight. Still that was not enough for the ABAE and there was no funding. Rather than turn his back on the amateurs he decided to have one last bash at the ABAS (four attempt) and he was a clear winner.............yet still no funding. I expect he will now turn his back on the amateurs for good and don't blame him.

pretty much how Amir got treated before the olympics...... they didnt want to know

Grant has left the Amateurs now, he will not box in the Four Nations either!
