Classic African-American Boxers Highlight

Post by sergelapelle »

:bag:
I'm making an Ali highlight video over a song Miles Davis wrote dedicated to him - as an intro for the vid I want to put in some footage of some pictures and footage of some classic KOs by Ali's predecessors. Obviously I've already got other heavyweight champs in there - Louis, Charles, Walcott, Johnson etc- and well known guys like Armsrong and Robinson, but I was wondering if you guys had any favourite boxers from the lower weights pre 1960 with videos on youtube that show top fighters at the top of their game that would be suitable.
Thanks in advance for your expertise

How about it buzz?

Are your "Forum Rules" a farce?

Or do you enforce them?

I respectfully hope you aren't referring to me. The original poster asked for info on specific pre 60 fighters and Granberry gave him a 1971 photo of Joe Frazier knocking down Muhammad Ali. I called him on it.

That's all.

I come here to talk about boxing, not to see people mistreated.

My favorite non-heavyweight African American fighters who fought at least part of their careers prior to 1960 of whom there is film available (excluding Robinson & Armstrong, whom you've named):

Joe Gans
Sam Langford
Panama Al Brown
Kid Chocolate
Sandy Saddler
Ike Williams
Charley Burley
Dick Tiger
Archie Moore
Harold Johnson
