Also featuring on ITV as a headliner. Something Kevin aint ever done.

Bring up both their records and meaningful fights against legit names and look what belts they have won. Makes for an interesting comparison.

The next steps are crucial though, depending on whether they both win or not.
The next steps are crucial and Mitchell is fighting Katsides for an interim title in his 5th fight in the past year. Murray fights Buckland for the vacant euro title in his 3rd fight of the past year and first in 7 months. At the moment Mitchell is in a far better career position than Murray.
When Murray wins the EBU his ranking will be propelled by it.

With the Valero situation, it would see his WBC come up for grabs. Given the connections with the WBC with Witter and Froch in the past, I bet it's something Hennessy can lobby for with success. Probably be a 2-fight, 4-way eliminator

Peterson, Mezzache, Soto, Vazquez and hopefully Murray would be the names kicking around.
But Hennessy doesn't have a proper TV deal, how is he going to give Murray, a fighter who clearly has never been one of his favourites, a title shot?

I think they're in negotiations right now. In the meantime are teaming up with Matchroom to flesh out some of their Sky dates.

At the end of the day Mick got stick from all angles (me and everyone), then announced a bumper deal with ITV. And to be fair the shows he put on free terrestrial TV were solid. So am gonna wait and see what they produce.

Froch v Pascal, Witter v Bradley, Thaxton's EBU win (Melero)and subsequent fights (Mezzache), Murray vs McAllister, Meager, Lawton, Thaxton all on free TV. Then Tyson Fury had 7 or 8 fights, Macintosh vs Cleverly, Barney & Sparticus, O'Donnell v Watson, Elcock vs Macklin, Barker v Butler, Mcdermott, Mckay etc.

Personally I'd rather watch WBC, EBU, British & Commonwealth fights against British fighters - than inter-continental tripe tucked away on the PPV undercard against Eastern bloc fighters who get scorched in a round.

Especially when it's on free TV.

Am I alone in thinking this ?

I've been watching a few of the top WBC lightweights in the last few days.

Murray CAN hang with them i'm convinced of that. I know there have been a few rusty outings, but he's looked solid in his last couple of wins. Meager, McAllister and Thaxton were demolished.

The only one that worries me is Soto who is a hard mutha.
