No no no. please no!!!
I love this sport, but I hate stories like this.
The guy has been a great fighter, but fighting for what - at his level - is chump change like this is saddening.

If he got Pickering he would probably beat him.

I'm starting to feel a bit uncomfortable about Prizefighter. A couple of the matches last night should not have gone ahead. Now we have this.

I've always liked Barry Hearn and I know he is a decent bloke, so I would like to think he will re-think this and drop Wayne from the card. He is a legend but he should not be fighting any more, in my opinion and the opinion of plenty of people with more medical training than me.
very true but if he wants to fight on its his choice i personally hope he does enter and do really well :TU:

As my previous post shows, I totally agree with you. That said, do you reckon its safer for shot fighters to do stuff like this or better to go unlicensed? (I'm thinking of Michael Gomez) I'd guess that unlicensed shows don't have the same medical procedures in place, although there's probably very little chance of a good ex-pro getting beaten. (Unless of course they come up against another, possibly bigger, ex-pro.)

Jesus, it's a damn site more dangerous putting someone like Kahut in with Herbie Hide, than putting an ex world champion who may be past his best, but certainly has plenty to offer at a certain level
