HOF VOTE: ALEXIS ARGUELLO

Post by Neri »

The hall of fame has received a number of objections regarding Alexis Arguello, managed by Grimm, being present within the HOF. This is due to the season AA took part in being abandoned after just 13 fight cards, please note that a normal season is usually 40 fight cards if the commissioner has the stamina. Can someone refresh my memory and remind me why the season was cut short? Was it the John Shep incident or something to do with TF's computer?

Grimm state AA's case if you wish. Arguello was the only unified champion of the lightweight season.

Should Arguello be in the HOF for his achievements in a short-lived season?

Don't let your opinion of Grimm have an effect on your vote, consider Arguello as a fighter only.

So the voting question is:

Should Alexis Arguello be kicked out of the Hall of Fame?

As I recall he beat Pernell Whitaker on one occasion. Pernell beat him on another. I think he should be in. I do think that's when the History of this great institution was lost in the Great Digital Erasure Event of 09.

Maybe we should have thought of that before we allowed it? I'm not for reversing a decision.

you've got a point. i was never for it but maybe we could bump it down to an honorable mention.

My vote is to leave him in. The HOF already notes that he took part in a very short season.

I'm happy with the idea of adding a good old asterix.

That season was stopped because of Shep. The previous season(s), which was a two-fer, was stopped when my laptop commited suicide.
