i heard peterkin vs arias was world war 2. it can only be settled in the pros. with the olympics looming closer, arias is clearly a favorite. but in the pros, peterkin will get him. give arias credit. he is the dog of 165. but if you let trav out to play with him, all heck breaks loose. cant wait to see these two on hbo ppv.

Marcus Browne from New York won...found this lookin around...the following is from Day One

The national Golden Gloves kicked off day one of the six day tournament last night at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The four different weight classes that competed last night were the Heavyweights (201 lbs), Middleweights (165 lbs), Light Welterweight (141 lbs), and Featherweight (123 lbs) classes.

The Mid-South regional (includes Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and west Tennessee) along with the Florida regional teams were the only teams to make it through the first night without any defeats going 4-0. Contrast to their success; Texas regional and the New Jersey regional teams were 0-4.

One of the noted upset was USA Boxing’s eighth ranked middleweight (165 lbs) Travis Peterkin of the New York Metro regional team loss to tenth ranked Luis Arias of the Wisconsin regional team.

Tonight, the four weight classes that will compete are the Super Heavyweight (201+ lbs), Light Heavyweight (178 lbs), Welterweight (152 lbs) and Lightweight (132 lbs) classes.
