Fremantle boxing in 1890-1910????

I am researching boxing in fremantle Western Australia at the turn of the century and am looking for info on bill doherty and any bareknuckle bouts and venues from that time....???? can you help??

I used to coach wrestling at the Hilton PCYC in Freo. I am sure you can find some primary (or secondary) sources on boxing through the PCYCs there. I am sure they still have boxing classes there.

Oh, and is it a law that if you are a police officer in Fremantle, that your name must be Ian?

I had concidered the pcyc. Thanks for prompting me to follow that up. Don't know many Ians...but I once new a cop from freo that got drunk off duty and belted an on duty one in perth...must have been blind drunk- whoops. he's not a cop anymore. oh well
