Y'know, I was going to make a joke here about how this is a good thing because I've run out of bennies recently & I think if I tape this I'll be able to go straight to sleep when I'm on a come-down, but thinking about another twelve rounds of slap, maul & wrestle is even too much for me to joke about.

Ah. Joe saw Bernard against Roy and decided now was a good time to fight him again.

One thing is for sure, this time round I won't be waiting up until the early hours to watch them fight each other. No chance!

until i hear it from the horses mouth i ain't convinced.

if he's making a comeback he needs to hurry up.

he's not getting any younger.

a hopkins rematch would be a disappointing choice of opponent.

hopkins didn't wanna engage first time round.

give someone like bute or dawson the payday. :box:

Adam & Diggler...why would you go and presumably pay a lot of money if you are not expecting a good fight?

I went to see Calzaghe-Manfredo and despite the poor main event, the whole day was fantastic - the atmosphere in Cardiff was unbelievable. I am sure it would be far better if it was a comeback Calzaghe in a grudge rematch with Bernard "won't lose to a white boy" Hopkins. If it happened under the GBP banner then maybe the undercard will feature some GBP fighters.

A long lay off wont have done him any favours and their first fight was a stinker.

That said, it may do him some good to get back in training and away from the showbiz.

Apparently Enzo has told the BBC that he aint heard anything about it and to ignore it.

Yes mate.

It's on the BBC sports bit. I think the boxing reporters are welsh and have contact with him.

I think a fight with Hopkins would be a very good comeback fight.

Golden Boy have been trying to get Joe to agree to a rematch with Hopkins for years, the reason being they know they can get HBO support and Golden Boy are short of big names. Doubt ti would happen now, but it would be purely a cash fight.
Apparently, just before the courst case with Warren, Schaefer flew over with a big presentation to put to him for a Hopkins fight and Joe turned him down.

Yes, but that has nothing to do with me wanting to see Calzaghe vs Hopkins II.

Didn`t Hopkins recently make a statement that he wasn`t tied to GBP anymore? maybe they now wouldn`t be so happy stumping up money for a rematch of a stinker of a fight ...

No, Schaefer said he wanted Hopkins to retire and Hopkins threatened to go to another promoter if need be.
