Witter Vs Magee
Refreshingly we saw Magee call out Witter, and I would like to see this fight made.
While Witter is busy calling out fighters which aren't interested in him (no change there then) he only has to look on his own doorstep for a decent challenge.
I'm also interested to see how Witter reacts to himself actually being called out.

An interesting match for us this side of the atlantic but id prefer to see him cement his place, name and reputation in america beforehand. For both Witter and Hatton, I think the only time Eammon should be an option is coming back from a loss or to give their first defence of a title in England.
Id prefer Witter fights Branco in an eliminator, the WBC should be firm and if Branco pulls out again then should have somebody replace him in eliminator status.

Agreed. Now Witter has some clout in the US with Golden Boy Promotions, there's less chance he'll be totally left out in the cold. He should persue those options.TBA wrote:An interesting match for us this side of the atlantic but id prefer to see him cement his place, name and reputation in america beforehand. He'd absolutely wreck Magee anyway, in my opinion, as much as I like and respect the Terminator.
Witter's power is something else.

Remember Harris last fight against Urkal he was greatful of how he was treated by the German public and said he wants his next fight there. Well perhaps a Witter-Urkal fight could be made there, though it would have to probably be on the undercard.
Saying that isnt Harris required to fight Mbaye next who won the eliminator against Kotelnik(sp?). That would likely take place in france and if Mbaye could win then a visit to France for Mbaye could be the best option.

Ndou was a giant leap in the right direction and unfortunately he hurt his hand which prevented a KO, but with DLH behind him he'll get his shot. Cotto, Mayweather... Witter doesn't care who it is. He'll win a legit title. (Not a WBU title).Loynesy wrote:He might be looking at them, but he's showing no signs of actually fighting them

He might be looking at them but he won't get a fight with them in the next 6months.lirva33 wrote:Witter shouldn't bother with Magee. It's onwards and upwards for Witter from here on in and Magee doesn't present much of a challenge. Witter is looking at the Cotto's, Mayweathers's, Harris's etc.

Harris is open to negotiation. Cotto may fight him. If not, I'm sure Oscar will find a credible opponent. DO you think Oscar would like to see Witter come over and fight in England against Magee? Oscar has a 3 fight deal with Witter.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:He might be looking at them but he won't get a fight with them in the next 6months.lirva33 wrote:Witter shouldn't bother with Magee. Cotto fight certainly won't happen (Arum and Hoya hate each other). Harris-Witter wouldnt pull much money - both don't have big fan bases, hence it won't happen.lirva33 wrote:Harris is open to negotiation. Cotto may fight him. HBO love DLH. Have you ever heard Merchant commentating on a DLH fight?Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Cotto fight certainly won't happen (Arum and Hoya hate each other). Why do Arum and Hoya hate each other? Money I presume?

Arrum used to promote Hoya, Hoya left him, Arrum lost lots of dollars, Arrum makes comments about Hoya like Hoya Quit against Hopkins etc.lirva33 wrote:HBO love DLH. Just because HBO loves DLH doesn't make it too much easier to sell Witter fights if the US public dislike Witter.
So which belt holder can Witter get? Zoo - better things to do, Hatton (if by miracle he wins) outside chance but Hatton would make Witter wait along time, Cotto - no managed by Arrum, Gatti-Mayweather winner MAYBE but they'll probably fight Zoo/Cotto/Harris. What about Harris - Witter isn't ranked too high in the WBA and Harris (is fighting a Frenchy next) doesn't want a dangerous fighter that won't bring big bucks.
That leaves Witter with titbits like Magee, Branco, Tackie, Corley, Ukral, Stewart etc to chew on to prove he deserves his shot
You can scrap Stewart, lost last week, and Urkal, moving up to welter, from that list.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Arrum used to promote Hoya, Hoya left him, Arrum lost lots of dollars, Arrum makes comments about Hoya like Hoya Quit against Hopkins etc.lirva33 wrote:HBO love DLH. Just been looking back through some old threads and spotted this one. Where does the assumption come from that Witter would "get rid of Magee quite quickly"! No one has ever stopped Magee or come close to it. Sure Witter can punch but Magee can bang a bit too. I personaly think it would be a distance fight and a stinker too. Neither man would want to commit first and it would be a real cat and mouse affair. I can't see it happening anyway but if it did for me there's no way Witter stops Magee.josh fg wrote:assuming that Witter will get rid of Magee quite quikly it would be a good marking time fight for him. I don't see why they can't work something out in the Kings hall in Bellfast.

I'm sure Arum loves $$$ more than he hates ODH.
MAB v Morales III was also ODH v Arum wasn't it?
I don't want their paths to cross. Magee should focus on the Welterweights. Witter on the Light Welters for the time being.
Outside of maybe 2-3 fighters there are geniune world title that Magee CAN win at Welter (so could Witter if he wants to move up).
This is of course, it is the old Magee that is boxing (the signals were okay vs Vester).
The guy who beat Jose Riveria for the WBA Welter title (Luis Collazo) isn't much cop. Magee can beat him.
