Cyclone Thompson explains Matters
Cyclone Thompsom writes from Sydney concerning himself and his prize ring doings since he’s been in the Antipodes.
Regarding his fight with Bandsman Rice, the cyclone accounts for losing the decision by the fact that the Bandsman refused to stand and fight, and that he little else but scamper around the ring and occasionally lash out with a left jab that had no particular effect.
The Cyclone says that these jabs nevertheless counted against him, despite the fact that he was chasing the Bandsman all over the ring in every round. ‘ The Bandsman is about the best sprinter I have ever saw inside a roped enclosure,’ declares the Cyclone.
But naively adds ‘ What’s the use of being s fighter when you can win by being a sprinter?’
The Cyclone states that he is thoroughly Acclimatised and in excellent health and condition. Also that he has several other fights on hand and that he’ll be home some time in June.
