Khan vs Kindelan looks set, Kindelan robbed??

Amir Khan's hopes of a rematch against Mario Kindelan moved a step closer when the Olympic gold medallist was confirmed as part of the Cuban team which will visit Britain for the first time next month.

Kindelan was on the list of names sent by the Cubans to the Amateur Boxing Association, which also includes a second Athens gold medallist in heavyweight Odlandier Solis.

Kindelan is expected to fight Birmingham's newly-crowned ABA lightweight champion Frankie Gavin in the historic match between Cuba and a Four Nations line-up at Liverpool Olympia on April 8.

Khan, who is not eligible for the Four Nations team since withdrawing from the ABA Championships last month, is desperate to persuade Kindelan to stay on and fight him again on his Bury club show at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton on April 16.

Kindelan beat Khan 30-22 in the Athens Olympic final and subsequently reversed a decision to retire after the Games

--- Well IMO with khan turning pro soon after, him beating Kindelan will be great publicity. It is on home soil for Khan and I really hope it's fair b/c I would hate to see a fighter like Kindelan robbed. I don't think Khan can beat him by the way.

AAAWWW for fack sake you get enough of this shit , in the pro's we now have the ameteurs coming out with this crock, he pulled out of the aba's cos a loss would of devalued him more, a win would of meant he had no choice but to go the the four nations or lose a lot of credibility.

Tell you what this kid is learning the bullshit side quicker than any one else, he don't want to fight the cuban , any more than his new promoter is gonna want it

I doubt very much Khan can beat Kindelan. In the olympic final Kindelan never got out of first gear and was still a comfortable winner. And Khan has hardly been keeping busy since then has he?

Great idea on paper all this "beat Kindelan and go pro" but chances are he won't pull it off, then what has it all been for? Even if he did beat the Cuban it wouldn't quite match an Olympic triumph.

Amir's age at the games acted as a barrier to any suggestion that he failed in some way by not winning gold, but now he's a star and much more is expected of him. If he turns pro off a relatively high profile loss, to someone who has already got the better of him once before in front of millions, it could prove a costly error.

I think it will have little impact. People will soon forget the loss to Kindelan. However, had Khan stayed on until the world championships, and actually achieved something there, he could have turned pro to much fanfare.

I feel that now it's something of a damp squib, chances are he goes out on a loss to Kindelan with a silver medal which was won some time ago.

He won't beat Kindelan, he believes his own shit. It will be his downfall.
