Former World Champion boxer Eamonn Magee has appeared in court charged with 10 offences including making threats to kill both his ex-wife and his former partner.
The 38-year-old from Eskdale Gardens in North Belfast is alleged to have threatened to kill his ex-wife Mary Magee on Christmas Eve last year after allegedly burgling a house on the Upper Springfield Road and stealing Mrs Magee’s purse containing cash and credit cards.
Magee, who is known as ‘The Terminator’ and took part in 33 professional fights throughout his career, also stands charged with causing criminal damage to his former wife’s Peugeot 308 car.
Laganside Magistrate’s Court heard yesterday that the boxer, who retired from the sport in 2007, is also charged with harassment as well as multiple breaches of a non-molestation order against his ex-partner Maria Magill on various dates in March this year, as well as a threat to kill Ms Magill on March 25.
The former WBU Welterweight title holder Magee, who did not apply for bail, denies all charges and was remanded in custody to re-appear in court tomorrow.

As I have probably mentioned before, I had a publishing deal to ghost The Terminator's biography. After a visit to Belfast, I quickly realised I would have to move there and do a Donal MacIntyre job. Would have been a great ride but undoubtedly also cost me my marriage.slapbangwhallop wrote:I wouldnt say that. The guy obviously need some help to be honest.
