Which amateurs are turning pro now?

Post by maverick »

Every year boxers turn over after the ABAS (although I'm sure some will wait until the four nations have finished), who knows who has gone pro?

Jimmy Coyle NACYP Champion (holding off at mo as boxing on own club show early April first)

Jamal Morrison
Michael Grant
Chris Burton

Grant has said that was his last Amateur fight, he has pulled out of the four nations already and is in talks with promoters.

I think David Price will go and a few others if they dont get good funding, which they wont!

Yes Grant has gone over, he wanted the Khan bout in April but Team Khan never made a single phone call to back up what was announced on Grandstand. The ABA are not funding him and he needs to earn some money like many of those talented lads.

Chris Burton, semi-finalist in the last two years at super-heavy is turning over. He did much better against Price than Campbell did in the final, though was clearly beaten.

He's more suited to the pros and, as the division is thin on quality, should do well.
