Affif Djelti

Former IBO AND European world champion, never turned pro til the late age of 31! lost his first 5 fights, he come over to england 6 times beating Alex Moon, Charles Shepherd, Ian McLeod, Dean Pithie and loseing to former world campions colin dunn and barry jones. Any one know much about this guy?

very strong awkward sod with 10foot arms with his socks pulled higher then simon cowell's waist band, see alot of him on eurosport back in the day.

not much more then anyone on here londonirish.
i do remember watching him afew times. he most have been a sharp puncher because he cut mcleod and shepherd pretty badly. i was surprise that mcleod was allowed to carry on to the final bell in that fight because the cuts wasn nice.
very tricky boxer with a good defence.

im sure he was boxing into his 40's, a nice operator, good skills and a sound defence as has already been mentioned. did he have some funny boney bits on his shoulders? ... am i thinking of the right guy..? ... :-?

yeah he was a personal trainer. and he had super quick reflexes and a very sharp counterpunching style. He just destroyed pithie and the others he came over here to beat

The lossses to jones and dunn were before he hit that hot streak where he would just come over here and massacre younger british fighters with classy boxing.

Slick to the extreme. He eventually lost a close one to boris sinitsin for the european title and called it a day.

I see similar spolier potential in another fighter of middle eastern descent on these shores who started out late. I mean Najah Ali who just got robbed against Shinny bayaar the british super fly weight champ.
Najah is 30 was 3-1 going in, but has super footwork and reflexes and is a sharp counter puncher. I hope he joins up with the ingles. Trust me this kid is one to watch

I remember him well. He used to get fantastic leverage into his left hook. Poor Moon got totally discombobulated by it even though he seemed well covered up.
