Boxrec is cashing in. It's a good service and everything needs cash.

I'm getting sick of seeing popup adds everytime i click on a profile(for screensavers(WTF)). Don't mind adds, but please don't change this site into popup cental boxscene. It seems to not be far away :TU:

Maybe boxrex should organize a couple of ticket events with proceeds going to the hosting of the site, 1 down south and one up north I'm sure some video footage of certain members meeting up face to face could create a few quid :TU:

The service provided is second to none and if that means I have to look and, from time to time, click on a few ads to help make the site pay, I will. People who think you should get something for nothing really get on my nerves. This site is serving up tens of thousands of pages per day, that doesn't come cheap. You also have to factor in that John has to direct procedures and keep all us visitors and the contributors content. It is a lot of work.

There are many other database type websites that charge a lot of money for membership. I am a member of two for my business and they set me back in excess of 2K per year. I could not operate as effectively without them.
Took the word's write from under my finger tips, apart from the getting on your nerves bit. I don't let people get on my nerves, just have a giggle about it. There is a lot of work goes into this site and it deserves the money it can get from advertising. You don't get owt for nowt these days! :TU:

Nope, a genuine suggesting to Boxrec highlighting a possible way they could raise some funds towards hosting. Having a dinner do with a few ex/current boxers, comedian etc could be quite successful imo.

oh, ok :TU:
could work but I think the most amount of Boxreccers that have met up at a fight is quite small. If I could I would get on board with this Mitchell Katsidis meet up, I think it will be some night. Presumably they're employing some kind of makeshift roof if it's on Upton Park pitch.
