i guess you have to live around a lot of mexicans like i do to realize that neither oscar or barrera even remotely resembles gomez!!KOJOE90 wrote:I thought around the face he looked a bit like De La Hoya actually. The quiet man 2004 wrote:Was Gomez a deadringer for Marco Antonio Barrerra. ITV2 are showing The Contender.
That sounds like Ahmed, thinks he is the best ever, got a huge ego, thats also one of the main reasons he had to leave his family behind here in Denmark.KOJOE90 wrote:I can't believe Ahmed took those libertys with Ray Leonard in the ring.
That showed NO class and a total lack of respect for an old fighter.
Ahmed also showed little respect when he lost his fight either, after fighting a dirty fight (from the clips we saw anyway).
I couldn't believe it when Ahmed came out with the line "Ray is a six weight champion and I played with him".beduff wrote:the guy is a complete pricksugar ray would still wup him like he was his daddy
hope his titless whore of a missus gives him the sack and moves on to another contender
What an unpleasant person.
I am no Leonard fan but I would have loved to see Leonard fight back and KO Ahmed The Egomaniac.

As I may have mentioned. This show really stank the place out
It was like an episode of The Real World on MTV.
Lot's of that meaningless introspection that plagues these reality shows. Lots of stoney silences and staring. Lots of group hugs and high fives
The whole thing looks scripted and false
A right load of old bollocks

I saw this for the first time this today, while trying to take an afternoon nap. The program is cheesy shite, that Ahmed is a total cock, looks like a cross between Chritiano Ronaldo and Fernando Vargas and is full of all that fake machismo bollox.
I watched approximately 10 minute before settling into a peaceful slumber.

His bird looked hot from what I could see. Didn't notice that her waps were odd!nickd wrote:You should have stuck around and checked out Kaddour's bird, very pretty but the oddest looking waps I have ever seen. Her tits look like they'd had an argument.
I aggree, she looked like she was going to dump him because he lost. What a bitch. She is the type of bird a guy like him deserves though.
The most recent episode was really sad it was plain to see that the late Najal Turpin was a very troubled person and in a lot of pain.
It was also plain to see he was devestated when he lost the fight. I have read that soon after the fight he lost a custerdy battle for his little girl and that's what sent him over the edge. But we shall never really know. A terrible shame for him and his young daughter.
R.I.P.

Yes it was sad, I knew one of the boxers from the show had died but didn't know it was him. I was looking forward to the end discussion on what was the best contest of the series when it said the message that he had died.
I don't want to be a gossip, but I take it his girlfriend/wife left him after the show. I have had the impression that a few of their "loved ones" would have done that also.

My impression was his missus was quite devoted to him, especially comforting him after the fight telling him it doesnt matter to their little girl or her that he lost. It was very sad watching the whole show knowing that he had now killed himself. I felt sorry for the little girl who doesnt have a dad now
He was sat next to his missus in his car when he blew his own head off... so suggests she was there till the very end, so to speak.stujones wrote:Yes it was sad, I knew one of the boxers from the show had died but didn't know it was him. So his daughter wasn't his wife's/girlfriends child? I thought she was? How was there a custody battle.
I didn't know it was him who had died, my jaw just dropped. I don't know how long ago was the show taped - it will be interesting to see how they break the news to fighters (if the show was still be recorded when the tradegy happend).

He took his life about 6 months after he lost his fight on The Contender.stujones wrote:I didn't know it was him who had died, my jaw just dropped.
