Re: Haye vs Adamek, Get it Done!
I think we're more likely to see Haye vs Harrison and then Haye vs W Klitschko.
Re: Haye vs Adamek, Get it Done!
i think haye-wlad is the big one, so efforts will be made to make it happen.
haye-adamek could make some money on american TV - adamek beat arreola on HBO - so considering that haye said he'd fight adamek provided he could interest american television, it is a fight that could possibly happen.
i don't think haye would ever consider harrison.

I think it's a good 2nd choice if Klitchko fight don't happen

Thats like saying lets see Pac v Williams instead of Pac v PBF.
Re: Haye vs Adamek, Get it Done!

hopefully it's a load of bollocks. doesn't seem to be much substance to the piece.

Audley - Haye, would be huge and needs to be made for the late summer.
What sort of person would take Haye - Ademek in some shitty Atlantic City casino over Haye - Harrison at Wembley stadium?
only a pudendum!
Re: Haye vs Adamek, Get it Done!
haye-adamek is certainly a great matchup. both have changed their styles to have success at heavyweight. but they would probably get back to their older, slightly more reckless and exciting styles, vs each other. they're about the same size, and it could be a brilliant battle.
it would draw a massive crowd in the prudential center in newark, new jersey, adamek's new home. but i doubt haye would want to fight in front of a crowd of whatever generation polish-american fans. and i'd hate to see adamek face him in the UK, as one of those overeager refs could get the job and stop adamek the first time he wobbles, despite the fact that he often takes inhuman punishment to sometimes even win the round he's been savaged, mutilated or battered in.
but if haye can make his money against audley, then go for it. not many cruiserweights end up in a position where they can make good paydays. adamek can get another decent paycheck fighting chris arreola for the HBO money or polish TV want evander holyfield. perhaps the pole can do both and carry on cashing it in.

Adamek has a record comparable to Haye's.HomeOfBritishBoxing wrote:haye would destroy adamek in 5
Some might even say it's better, given the same divisions they operated in.
I personally would make Haye the favourite, but Adamek is a definite banana skin.

I like Adamek, hard not to, but Haye's definitely beaten better -- Mormeck & Ruiz, though veterans, have done far more at world level than anyone Adamek's ever beaten. At cruiser Adamek was going life & death with the Johnathon Banks' of the world, & was a point or two away from disaster versus Cunningham (only Cunningham's impressive ability to stick his chin out on a plate every time Adamek threw the right hand got Tomasz the win).
Arreola is his trump (at heavy) but whilst that is a fantastic result I don't rate the Estrada win & Ray Austin (!) managed to batter the version of Golota that Adamek did. I like Adamek, but he gets too much respect in the "trade" for having hard fights with basic non-entities, or limited types who were good at one thing (Paul Briggs, fer instance). Hard hard man, though & I fully expect him to give David absolute life & death should they meet.
Re: Haye vs Adamek, Get it Done!
adamek's had some fine, underrated opposition.
steve cunningham has beaten everyone at cruiserweight. so what if adamek went life and death? you oftne have to go life and death to be quality opponents. bell is a former undisputed champ, and adamek dominated him. they were both rated above adamek when he beat them.
paul briggs was a really underrated, dangerous opponent and they had 2 brilliant fights. briggs was supposed to win their first fight but adamek won, and beat him again! and i would say that ulrich and banks were pretty tough fights to take as your first title defenses. ulrich was an olympic bronze medallist and EBU light heavy champ; banks was a good amateur, a huge cruiser with a punch and good skills. adamek simply broke him down.
arreola is a top 10 heavy and his power was a threat. he was also supposed to beat adamek? see a pattern, anyone? the man has beaten genuine world class in 3 weights.
haye has mormeck, for instance. but mormeck barely survived that bellr ematch and they had to finish the rounds early for him to survive! mormeck and bell's next fights were haye and adamek.

Re: Haye vs Adamek, Get it Done!
how is haye going to destroy adamek in 5?
has anyone destroyed adamek? the pole is freakishly tough.
haye is quality but he can only throw about 5 punches a round so that he doesn't gas like he did vs carl thompson; and haye, not adamek, has the chin problem.

Re: Haye vs Adamek, Get it Done!
I would have to agree with Autobarn on this.Adamek has actually proved more at Heavy for me.Haye's Heavyweight opponents were made to measure.Adamek has great durability combined with a great workrate, and that could spell trouble for David. The shots he took from Briggs would have knocked out almost anyone(including Haye).

I'll tell you: someone who is not a fan of boxing.
Haye vs Harrison is a pathetic mismatch. Haye vs Adamek is an exciting fight.

Re: Haye vs Adamek, Get it Done!
by landing crisp hard fast punches on adamek's chin, he has a good chin but gets hit WAY too easily! 5 punches a round? he threw atleast 30 a round against ruiz maybe more!! and he didnt gas after 9 rounds! your obviously a haye hater. has adamek ever fought a heavyweight as good as haye? not a chance haye would make him look sillyAutobarn wrote:how is haye going to destroy adamek in 5?

I can see Haye getting to Adamek early. It is a real possiblity, with Haye's dangerous combination of speed and power.HomeOfBritishBoxing wrote:by landing crisp hard fast punches on adamek's chin, he has a good chin but gets hit WAY too easily!

However, if Haye fails to get Adamek out of there, can you see Adamek causing Haye some problems in the later rounds?
If Tomasz can hang around, this fight gets very interesting IMO.
Re: Haye vs Adamek, Get it Done!
Now that Haye vs Wlad isnt happening, and that Adamek has secured HBO's backing with the win over Arreola, what are the chances of this fight getting made in 2010?
Re: Haye vs Adamek, Get it Done!
If guys like Fragomeni and Johansen could weather Haye's early storm and pose him questions, it's not impossible to imagine Adamek going even further.
Having said that, I've been following Adamek's fights at heavy and I'm left with the impression that he's taking far too many shots from these big lugs. Sooner or later he's going to get cracked and someone as fast and hard hitting as Haye is a prime candidate.
Very good, even fight on paper. Hope it happens.
