come on spud stop being a prick. We know you are enjoying this, but give us some idea as to what has happened.
I predict either Magee or Smith has been made an opponent for some type of world title which is why the fight might not go ahead.

That doesn't really tell us anything. What we do know is that there hasn't been any type of announcement or update any where as to the outcome of the purse bids.

I guess you have to keep it shut until you are ALLOWED to say something though.

A hint, or a clue thought perhaps???

To be perfectly honest Avid - I havn't got a clue what is happening with Paul Smith - all I know is there are waves being made concerning Brian Magee - and there are definite offers on the table for him - one of which is particularly interesting - there is an announcement due shortly.

But as stated some time ago by myself - if Magee/Smith is happening I would be surprised it happens this side of the summer - and if it does happen - Magee will have to be paid very well. :TU:

I believe Magee will fight for Hatton Promotions - therein lies the biggest problem if he is going to fight Smith - I will let you figure that one out!!! :TU: :TU:

Fair enough Spud.

I was well looking forward to it though. I can understand that Magee has other routes he can take too, and fair play to him if he does, and gets well paid for it.
I just wanted confirmation of some kind if it was going ahead or not, as i follow Smigga's career.
Wonder who would be next for Paul if the Magee fight didn't happen

update on the purse bids.

SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT PAUL SMITH (Holder) v BRIAN MAGEE
At the request of both parties, purse buds have been postponed by one month. Therefore the Stewards put out the above contest for purse bids to be submitted in accordance with the Terms and Conditions attached to the Board’s Head Office by 12.00noon on Wednesday, 9th June 2010, the contest to take place by the end of October 2010. The Purse to be split 50/50% to each boxer.

October is a long time for Smigga not to have fought, and the same goes for Magee.

I would like to know the reason for such a delay. Hopefully the information will be forthcoming soon!

World Cup does not finish until 10 July - then people go on their summer holidays.

July is always a quiet ish month for boxing.

Smith and his cuts are they properly healed?

I am convinced the fight still has big question marks over it - why - because Magee's new promoters will get him just as attractive fights financially - Magee is the European Champion - he should be paid as such.
