Jean Pascal turning pro

Post by philbud »

Canadian 75kg amateur champion Jean Pascal will be turning pro probably in February. Apparently GYM Promotions signed him to a contract. Jean Pascal went to the olympics in Athens and lost against Cuban Yordani DESPAIGNE HERRERA 36-24 in a great bout.

Apparently GYM promotions also signed 60Kg Canadian amateur champion Antonin Decarie to a contract.

They should be both on a pro card in early Febrary in Montreal, Canada.

Acquiring jean pascal was a great move for gym management.
As for antonin decarie he had a change of hearts and decided to sign with interbox.

Jean Pascal is a good boxer, I think that he will go far as a pro. It will be interesting to follow his career. Does anyone know how old Pascal is?

I saw Pascal once in Finland (Tammer-tournament) few years ago. He fairly lost a close decison to Finnish Jani Rauhala. It was the best fight of the tournament.

Pascal is pretty strong and he gave cuban Yordanis Despaigne (one of the weakest cubans) a decent fight at the Olympics. But he must improve technically if he want's to suceed as a pro. He was outboxed by dominican Juan Ubaldo Cabrera at the 2003 PanAms.

pascal is a legit pro prospect & he's fighting at super middle, where a disproportionately LARGE NUMBER of 2004 olympians are currently competing!!!

ward, dirrell, wilaschek, balzsay, pittman & pascal!!
