He really went for it in the first round. Thought Kenna would at least last a few rounds. Well done Larry, couldn't have done it in a better way

much as i love larry i was not impressed, his movement reflected how musclebound he is and his punches looked slow, almost 'wooden' like. looked a bit 'open' too but took kennas best shot well, in theory larry should be having to take them. its not a big win, kenna is cannon fodder nowerdays im afraid.

sorry if you think im being hard on the big man, but im trying to be honest.

as for the others, much as dallas threw a decent shot to beat swaby i still think, with that upright style, that he will get his head ripped off by a sharp puncher/hooker.

as for price...bloody clueless. should have worked perets body from the first second of the fight, he should have kept peret at bay and out of danger with that long reach. peret should not get cloce, he just rushes in...

marks out of 10..

must say i agree , ive said elsewhere tonight , that larry i think , needs a fight where he goes in with the mindset of it going the distance and get behind his jab , set up some attacks from there , and if a ko then comes then fine , but i dont see how rushing to ko guys is going to help his development as a fighter , hes going to need the variation that may hold the key to unlocking the defences of a better standard of boxer , also thought his defence looked a little leaky tonight .
I cant criticise dallas too much , a lot of european heavyweights are pretty upright and to be fair the europeans are dominating the heavyweight scene at the mo , and it was a good punch that stopped swaby .
With price , despite his credentials ive yet to be excited by him , yes hes doing what he needs to do to the get the win , but from what ive seen i feel if he was put under pressure he could crumble .

difficult to say , i was thinking swaby before tonight .
he needs someone that he cant just knockout in a rd , maybe someone with a good chin but able to put pressure on him , forcing him to use his jab and take control of the center of the ring , at the end of the day his matchmakers arent going to put him in with someone that could give him too much trouble , so i think its gonna have to be that he alters his mindset for a fight rather than it mattering who hes fighting , maybe give him someone he knows he can ko , but make him try to jab his way to victory , and if its not working out for him after 3 or 4 rounds then just go for the knockout to make sure he gets the w .

if you want an english opponent then, paul butlin fits the bill, he took chirosa the full 8, so thats a decent benchmark.

i thought dave ferguson too but was unsure if he was ready just yet , maybe another couple of wins first , how about coleman barrett too .
Zoltan Petranyi ????? , got enough experience to test larry but without being overly good.
Carl Baker ???

Barrett would be a good choice of opponent but he is being lined up to fight Rogan in an Irish title fight soon enough.

or

8-1 but fought nobodys , although it would probably end up another 1 rd blowout .

i dont think larry is ready for ferguson yet, i definately think bitlin would be a decent durable test, lets not go overboard about larry yet. i do hope he proves me wrong though, lovely guy.

but equally the fella has no threat at all, so larry will just try to walk through anything he throws.

the guys fought the likes of bellew and kostecki of late , theyve not stopped him , i think thats whats more important as far as larry goes at the mo , make him think about how to beat him without being under too much destress , personally think that guy on paper looks a descent opponent for larry , although he may be not the heaviest , but like i said on paper i think hes the sort of opponent he should face at the mo , like you said , lets not get carried away and let him have bouts he can learn from .

I wish Larry would take his time. I know his trainer said the game plan was to put the pressure on Kenna straight away, but Larry took Kenna's best shot and it stopped him in his tracks (and meant he had blood dripping out of his nose for the post-fight interview).

But he got the win, so well done Larry! I agree with the people who have said he's too bulky, though. He's lacking flexibility because of it. Fortunately he's speedy even with the extra muscle mass.

He's 5' 8" and light. Way too light.

yeah just noticed that , nt sure why hes rated at heavy to be honest . i knew he wouldnt be big by the opponents he had but just checked back and saw it .

It's got to be an editor error. His last fight was for a light heavyweight title.

if you look at the rankings its tough to say where he should go next , not too many easier fights available , i think its gonna have to be time to step up a level soon ,
the names mentioned above are in the most part descent enough opponents but how long for .
i think he might become difficult to match up appropriately soon.
