Re: Sexton/Bayaar RBR Updates?
personally dont want to see larry keep rushing in so eager to ko his opponent , id like to see him have a think about what hes doing , try to work the jab and set up some attacks , maybe he should go into a fght with that in mind as he will learn more from it , these quick 1 rounders cant be helping him develop , but at the end of the day a wins a win , and thats what gets entered onto his record .
Re: Sexton/Bayaar RBR Updates?
He said afterwards, that it was his gameplan to get him out there early.damianhucker1 wrote:personally dont want to see larry keep rushing in so eager to ko his opponent , id like to see him have a think about what hes doing , try to work the jab and set up some attacks , maybe he should go into a fght with that in mind as he will learn more from it , these quick 1 rounders cant be helping him develop , but at the end of the day a wins a win , and thats what gets entered onto his record .

Agreed 100% with this statement.Smigga wrote:I'm not getting into slagging referees & judges it's not my style, but how can Sexton jump on ropes at the end of that fight and honestly say "I thought I done enough"
Bayaar won AT LEAST 8 rounds. In my opinion like.

Re: Sexton/Bayaar RBR Updates?
just to clarify though , so people dont think im blowing my own trumpet , it was a youth club in st annes (nottingham ) that had started doing boxing , i went with a mate of mine to take a look , and curtis was giving it the big un' , he had only been training a few times and didnt know me , but i had been boxing for 3 years , i sparred him and knocked him out in the 2nd round , lol , i was 15 and he was 14 but we both weighed around 9 and half stone at the time , he had a rep as being a tough lad so i took a "Liberty" with him and showed him who was boss , not that id get in the ring with nowadays , im in no shape to box , being around 4 stone over my proper weightdamianhucker1 wrote:didnt realise curtis valentine was a pro , i knocked him out years ago in sparring at a youth club lol

always seems to be the case though , it will only get him so far , needs to try a few different things , he may well be doing in sparring but its different in an actual fight .jBacca wrote:He said afterwards, that it was his gameplan to get him out there early.damianhucker1 wrote:personally dont want to see larry keep rushing in so eager to ko his opponent , id like to see him have a think about what hes doing , try to work the jab and set up some attacks , maybe he should go into a fght with that in mind as he will learn more from it , these quick 1 rounders cant be helping him develop , but at the end of the day a wins a win , and thats what gets entered onto his record .

Re: Sexton/Bayaar RBR Updates?
paris is becoming a joke..he ought to quit before he gets thrown out..and yeh old doughty was fumin at sexton..but sexton showed no respect at all, he fukin lost most of those rounds, even the ones he won at the end were close...hope shinny does him in the rematch and they should hold it up north cos he will get robbed down southbigped wrote:same wee prick, you could c old jack was angry too, shinny is a gentleman total joke and a disgrace, bad mamma jamma wrote:mate you are so right there, i was fukkin boiling over when i heard him say that he thought he won...no respect little bstadSmigga wrote:I'm not getting into slagging referees & judges it's not my style, but how can Sexton jump on ropes at the end of that fight and honestly say "I thought I done enough"

Re: Sexton/Bayaar RBR Updates?
worst thing is, Sexton himself in the interview admitted that he only started working properly from the 8th round onwards...then complains he didn't get the decision. He came across as a right tool in the interview.bad mamma jamma wrote:mate you are so right there, i was fukkin boiling over when i heard him say that he thought he won...no respect little bstadSmigga wrote:I'm not getting into slagging referees & judges it's not my style, but how can Sexton jump on ropes at the end of that fight and honestly say "I thought I done enough"

Re: Sexton/Bayaar RBR Updates?
Decent enough fight, but didn't really catch on fire until the 9th round when Sexton began his charge.
I had it 114-114, so thought John-Lewis was spot on, but Foster and the notorius Parris should have gone to Specsavers
. The sky team have managed, yet again, to turn another close one into another controversy
Bayaar keeps his belt, but as long as Sexton starts maturing he'll come back better for this. I thought Sexton could win this one, but certainly think he'll win a rematch if it hapepens. Bayaar appeared to be lacking when Sexton put the heat on him, and despite lacking class in the post fight interview (he is 22 afterall) Ashley was absolutely right when he said he got butted early on and just got on with it whereas Shinny cried foul.
I'm hoping Maloney is true to his word and makes the rematch when Bayaar's cut heals.

Re: Sexton/Bayaar RBR Updates?
Sorry Butch, disagree! I watched it again on Sky Plus today with no sound. While I agree it was close, it wasn't a draw or a Sexton win, it was a clear, close Bayaar win if you know what I mean. Foster's card is the only one that reads right in my opinion. I had it 116-114 last night and 116-113 when I watched it again today. The only good thing was that Shinny didn't lose his belt. When you say putting the heat on, do you mean Sexton going head first into Bayaars head? Using his age as an excuse for a complete lack of respect and sportsmanship is bollix, he is 22, not 12.THEBUTCH wrote:Decent enough fight, but didn't really catch on fire until the 9th round when Sexton began his charge.

The Cut's did change the fight which was clause by the head but that boxing, Shinny seem to lose all rythem and control. Even then them rounds where Close and very massy, rouds that Ashly seemed to win, the rounds Shinny won was clear and totally out boxed Sexton. I had it 116-112...Deno1986 wrote:When you say putting the heat on, do you mean Sexton going head first into Bayaars head?.
You aint wrong, even in the interview he said that he wonDeno1986 wrote: Using his age as an excuse for a complete lack of respect and sportsmanship is bollix, he is 22, not 12.
