Amir Khan to win by KO 7/4
Victor Ortiz to beat Nate Campbell evens
Derek Chisora to beat Danny Williams 3/10
Amir Khan to win by KO 7/4
Victor Ortiz to beat Nate Campbell evens
Derek Chisora to beat Danny Williams 3/10
Re: My boxing bet this weekend
is that some kind of accumulator...what would u put on/ get back?
don't know anythng about the Ortiz fella. I think Mitchell has got a real job on his hands mate, I am going to have to say Katsidis is favourite for me....the Bookies only got Mitchell fave as a lot money will be laid on him.
I think Katsidis MUST be a little shop worn by now - compared to when he fought Earl, whereas I think Mitchell is fresher than what Earl was when he fought Katsidis....which is essential, considering Earl was blitzed.
I think Mitchell could potentially box his way to what would be a magnificent points win.
I think you might be wide of the mark on Khan though. I think toss a coin there. Malignaggi is capable of not only going the distance, but also winning on points or stopping Khan if you ask me. What a brilliant weekend we have in store.

Re: My boxing bet this weekend
i think the thing that makes Katsidis so dangerous is that he has zero regard for his own safety. He is one crazy fella if you ask me and very dangerous. I'd back Khan to take care of him but I'm not sure Mitchell can convert his own speed and skills into a commanding position early in the fight, which he needs to do in my book.
Re: My boxing bet this weekend
I agree with them all except I think Katsidis will be too much for Mitchell. He's too much of a pressure fighter. Even master boxer Casamayor had trouble keeping him off. Ultimately I think Mitchell will stand and trade and that will be his undoing.

Re: My boxing bet this weekend
NEBF you don't know Victor Ortiz?????
I think it's a good accumulator. Mitchell is a bit risky, Katisdis is no mug. Ortiz has quit when the going got tough and campbell is nothing if not experienced. He could be tricky enough and frustrate Ortiz, whos temperament is in question. I'm not too sure if Khan will stop Malignaggi... i expect raiding tactics similar to the Kotelnik fight, so thats also risky. Chisora should do Williams.

Mitchell to win is very risky, but he's got a lot in his favour.Chris W 1982 wrote:Kevin Mitchell to win 4/7

Khan to win by KO is only nice if Khan's tactics permit it. As meatyshots says, it could be like the Kotelnik fight, and Malignaggi is durable.
Ortiz is a very good boxer with very good power. The main question mark is his heart/desire/determination. He should beat Campbell, imo.
Chisora will surely beat Williams.
Overall they're pretty decent bets. I don't like accumulators though.

i wouldn't be at all surprised to see Williams surprise people again just like when he turned up in great shape and stopped Gammer.

Re: My boxing bet this weekend
I think he is going to suprise Chisora who hasn't been deep in a fight in his entire career. He might well blow Williams out of there but if he can't get him out there after 3 then I think he will knacker himself out and lose.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:i wouldn't be at all surprised to see Williams surprise people again just like when he turned up in great shape and stopped Gammer.

Williams is the king of suprises. I love him and hate him for it.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:i wouldn't be at all surprised to see Williams surprise people again just like when he turned up in great shape and stopped Gammer.

Re: My boxing bet this weekend
Mitchell -Katisidis is 50/50, though I have to admit I lean towards Katsidis and might have a flutter on him considering he's somewhat proven in genuine world class whilst Mitchell has yet to fight at this level. Suprised the bookies are making Mitchell the favourite tbh. I like all your other bets though be wary of accumulators. I am convinced there is a very good chance Khan stops Malignaggi - I just think Khan is all wrong for Malignaggi. Khan is quicker of hand and foot than Paulie IMO and won't follow him around like a Diaz. Khan arrow straight right-hand will do the job. When Khan sits down on his shots he is spiteful if not concussive, puncher.
Re: My boxing bet this weekend
I was looking at doing a small accumulator this week also:
Chisora win
Ashley Sexton win
Michael Katisdis win
Victor Ortiz win
Khan decision
Degale KO/TKO/DQ
16/1 with Skybet
Few risky ones in there but for the sake of €10 it's worth a sneaky bet.

The only surprises lately have been losing to the likes of Baker, no offence to Baker, but Danny would have stood him on his head in a couple of rounds a few years back.Asterix wrote:Williams is the king of suprises. Danny is getting stopped here. His punch resistance has completely gone.

Re: My boxing bet this weekend
Khan by Ko doesn'tseem the safest choice. Paulie has a good chin, is a genuine Light welter, Ok his punch power is very questiuonable but he still had N'Dou down and Cotto stung.... plus he's in his backyard, it's Khan's first fight out of the UK....Khan's had Visa problems.
Un;ess the odds are good, I would shy away from this

On paper i would agree with those results but i think 16-1 is pretty poor for predicting the out come of 6 fights, Any thing could happen, cuts, DQ's etc etc.Deno1986 wrote:I was looking at doing a small accumulator this week also:

One bet for the master of free money this weekend and that's Katsidis to beat Mitchell, as stated above the bookies have this priced wrongly.
Re: My boxing bet this weekend
I am really having a hard time figuring out who's going to win that. It's a 50-50 fight to me, so I agree the underdog would be value for money.Hagler2002 wrote:One bet for the master of free money this weekend and that's Katsidis to beat Mitchell, as stated above the bookies have this priced wrongly.
Re: My boxing bet this weekend
Well the likes of Chisora, Degale and Sexton are pretty clear favourites so that lowers the odds of the accumulator a bit. As I said, it's only a novelty bet really, I'm not going to be beating myself up over a tener.Nightmare Roy wrote:On paper i would agree with those results but i think 16-1 is pretty poor for predicting the out come of 6 fights, Any thing could happen, cuts, DQ's etc etc.Deno1986 wrote:I was looking at doing a small accumulator this week also:

Lovely! ended up getting 13/8, also have this in a treble with the Chisora KO and Ortiz to win.Hagler2002 wrote:One bet for the master of free money this weekend and that's Katsidis to beat Mitchell, as stated above the bookies have this priced wrongly.

Good stuff Hags, well done. I had Kat outright victory [5/4] tied in Andy Lee to stop Thiam, also 5/4 [Hagler2002 wrote:Lovely! ended up getting 13/8, also have this in a treble with the Chisora KO and Ortiz to win.Hagler2002 wrote:One bet for the master of free money this weekend and that's Katsidis to beat Mitchell, as stated above the bookies have this priced wrongly.

I had two trebles that came in
Chisora ko 1-3
Khan KO/TKO
Katsidis KO/TKO
£5. = £173.25
Chisora ko 1-6
Khan fight not to go the distance
Katsidis fight not to go the distance
£5=£42.01
