Come on guys one defeat doesn't make you a bad fighter overnight, imo kevin is well above british title level and will be brought back after a rest with a couple of 10 rounders and then a title fight of some discription, although thers no reason whatsoever to move from lightweight.good luck kevin.

It's not the end of the world, Katsidis was always going to be too much for him. He didn't suffer a brutal hammering in there and hopefully will learn from this defeat and come back stronger later in the year, hang around european level for a while before stepping back up.

This could be a blessing in disguise.
I still firmly believe this kid is a future....Genuine....... world champion :box:

Its ironic; Kat's maybe a Rocky fan but he was Clubber Lang last night night!
Well done to michael katsidis.........What can you say delivers every time!!!
(There's a big lesson to be learned there me thinks)
Kev don't forget that guy running up that hill especially in 40 degree heat!

Don't be too down hearted and remember what Sir Winston Churchill said

"Now: this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning"

Your day will come soon enough.....Wish you all the luck in the world :TU:

khan did come straight back after getting stopped, but khan was a huge investment.

of course mitchell is going to come back, FW seems a bit urgent to have some world champions post-khan, but he's not going to be brought back like khan was.

He needs to work on his defense and attempt to develop more ring smarts before he does anything else. Last night suggested that his chin is shaky - not glass, but a thousand miles from iron and therefore far too vulnerable to leave out to dry as he did. I hope he successfully returns, however tough it will be.

Mitchell should have got Katsidis respect early by engaging with him and landing something big. Instead he fought exclusively as a boxer and only tried to get Katsidis respect when he was hurt and vulnerable. I thought it was bad tactics from Mitchell

It was the turning away when hit which shocked me the most. Parris split them twice for no reason too.

Yeah I noticed that too. He didn't seem prepared. It was like the gameplan was just to go out and do what he did vs Prescott. I was reminded of Lewis vs Tyson when Lennox came out and got Tysons respect early. Mayweather did the same thing with hatton, landed a lovely left hook about 30 seconds into the fight. Mitchell needed to get Katsidis respect. He didn't and Katsidis simply walked through him.

not a chance. he was big at 130 and recently said he needed to move up to 140. he surely has weight problems and he'll never see super feather again.

haha. Mitchell, who was clearly smaller than Katsidis at 135, 'needs' to move up to 140 now. He needs to stop making excuses is what he needs to do, there are much bigger drainers in boxing than he was 1t 130 never mind 135. :TU:

I think Mitchell should train in the states where he will get better sparring. Re-dedicate himself a bit like Khan has done.

he was talking about 140 before the katsidis fight, though. clearly it is too far, and he'd end up like alex arthur.

i think 135 is the best compromise for him. reckon he'll gas down at 130.

I agree but Khan had no kids or wife. Mitchell is tied down.
