I have to say, Peter's or RTE made a Boo Boo getting Marty morrissey doing ring announcer. fornicating embarassing to be frank...The two fighters were in the ring nearly 20 minutes waiting for Marty to shut the eff up before the action started..
He was a complete joke. He spent like 5 minutes shouting "don't you all love Andy Lee" into the crowd.

In the tv interview after Steward looked a little off? He used to love talking Andy up, (although that did Andy no good) but i thought he would have be a little happier with the win... I wonder how long this relationship will last?

Interesting comments on Andy Murray there BigEars, good to see him keeping active anyway.

I know. He said Thiam was one of the hardest punchers in the sport, for fvck sake. Half the country probably thinks he's on world level, which he hasn't been since he lost to Trinidad in 2000. They even tried to pass off a 2002 WBA interim title challenge as a shot for a world title. Thy just exploit the ignorance of the public, who know fvck all about boxing and most of whom think Lee being ranked 12 by the WBA means he is a top level fighter.

You really can't say from that performance how good Lee is at the moment. Thiam just stood back and allowed Lee to throw punches and would then try with a big sluggish right hand that most people on here could avoid!

Barker will show Lee how to box, and Lee must be joking if he really thinks the fight will happen in Limerick....

Well if it's in Ireland, there is guaranteed TV coverage and a live worldwide stream on the net. Mick H. doesn't have a TV deal in the UK. What would Barker rather do, wait around until September/October for Mick to beg for a TV slot off Hatton/Matchroom etc or have a guaranteed televised fight in Ireland over the Summer?

I agree, Marty Morrisey shouldnt be allowed anywhere near a boxing event, I wont go on, because it embarrasses me to think of the shite he said that night.
Andy is a practical man and im sure hes disappointed with having blown away Thiam so easily, Thiam hurt his back because he was being pounded around the ring by a man with a cruiserweights frame, fell and thumped his knee into the floor which probably damaged his back. Thiam is 5'9" to Andys 6'2" (AT LEAST), he was never going to be able to get in range.

Andy looks good and I am pretty sure that he will defeat Barker comfortably if he faces him and he is capable of winning the world title now that Pavlik is moving up in weight. I have occasionally criticised Andy in the past, but he has become more rounded, he punches hard to body and head, he is dedicated to training, has awkward skills, is hard to catch cleanly, a southpaw with a huge frame and reach. It will take a really tough, hard hitting man to beat Andy Lee.

As amateurs Lee beat Barker. On recent performances I would say it is a 50/50 fight. Lets hope it does happen.

Steward is talking him up as much as ever. Says he would beat Martinez, would love Duddy v Chavez Jr winner, says he would consider it a very easy nights work for Andy.

Lee already showed Barker how to box :OhYes: . He'll do it again too. They have similar styles except Lee is that bit faster, bigger, stronger and has a far better chin. Both have similar stamina issues but this won't go the distance anyway.
