Juan Manuel Marquez

Juan Manuel Marquez was born in Mexico City in 1973. He had an amateur record of 35-1 that included two Golden Glove tournament wins. He made his professional boxing debut at age 19 on May 29, 1993, and lost his first bout via disqualification to Javier Duran. Marquez won his first world title on January 2 2003 and continued his sucecss from there and went on to become a 4 time Featherweight World Champion as well as winning titles at Lightweight. He is consistently regarded as one the best fighters Pound for Pound in the world and was the 4th of only 5 Mexican fighters to ever win World Titles in 3 weightclasses. His brother Rafael was also a World Champion at Batamweight and Super Bantamweight.
George Dixon

George Dixon was born in Africville , Halifax, Nova Scotia on July 29th 1870. He was the first black world boxing champion in any weight class, while also being the first ever Canadian-born boxing champion. He had fast hands and was quick on his feet like a cat. On offense, he hit with both hands but mostly utilized a long, straight left accompanied by a stiff right. On defense, he guarded himself well. His quickness and ducking ability made him a difficult target to strike. It is quite possible Dixon fought as many as 800 fights, with hundreds of unrecorded exhibitions in vaudeville halls. He is regarded as as an all-time great.
TRAINER: Mannie Seamon
Seamon began as an apprentice trainer in 1912 and in 1917 got his licence and began training Benny Leonard who under Seamon became World Lightweight Champion. Mannie also trained the great Joe Louis and many others such as Ted (kid) Lewis, Primo Carnera, Billy Conn and Maxie Rosenbloom. He ran a Gym in New York City in the 1920's and managed fighters aswell, mainly Lew Hurley.
