According to an advert in Boxing News there is a Memorabilia event at the NEC Birmingham next weekend which will include some Boxing items and guests.
Anyone been to this before or have anymore information?
Anyone thinking of going?

I've been to nearly every Memorabilia since it started. Was once a year, then twice, now up to three times. Runs over a weekend, I tend to go on the Sunday. They started bolting on a Sports memorabilia bit a couple of years back and its steadily growing. Predominantly football, but I think the last show had Frank Bruno and John H Stracey (and maybe Henry Cooper was there the day I didn't go).
It did have it's separate (much smaller) hall but the last couple have been mixed in with all the Star Trek, Dr Who and sci-fi stuff!
Usually get most of the surviving 1966 England World Cup team there (but never seen Bobby Charlton attend). Also, a lot of 60s/70s stars like Martin Chivers, Peter Osgood, Chopper Harris, etc. Even had Mario Kempes at one.
Format tends to be, sport celebs sit along a table, you pay through the nose for a ticket, get herded along a roped area to the person you want to sign, quick bit of chit chat, and out the other end.
I really don't like paying for an autograph but made an exception for my hero, the great John Charles.
Frank Bruno looked really uncomfortable at the last show and it was quite strange seeing him sat at the end of the line alongside Denis Law.
Get a few dealer's stalls there with the usual signed gloves and pics you see on Ebay, with COA's I could have run off on my printer.
I wouldn't recommend it if all you're interested in is the Boxing side of it. But if you like 70s Football, want to see the cast of some US sci-fi show and pick up some Batman comics, you'll be well made up.
