on murray's side, katsidis seems desperate to get a british following. he has split up with his stateside promoters, he apparently has had trouble in australia, and he said after the mitchell fight, in a sort of dreamy yearning manner, "hopefully 15,000 people (i think he meant british) will come to see me fight".

That would be a good fight but I dont think Murray is ready yet, he hasnt been tested on the European scene yet. Maybe a fight with Mitchell for the European and if he wins that then he can eye Katsidis

i know what you mean Alex but i am not sure. I'm not sure Murray has got much to add to his style. I wonder if they wouldn't be better launching him at Euro level- he's gonna take punches and the longer he waits the more chance he's halfway shot by the time he gets there, if you know what I mean.

I personally think it would be an amazing fight and I think Murray has what it takes to beat Katsidis.
In the Mitchell Katsidis fight it looked like it was man against boy, but I don't think Murray would have that problem because he's big for the weight.
Murray is underestimated and gets over looked, which I can't understand!

katsidis has got pretty far with a fairly limited, street-fighting style reliant on some power and strength.

murray is extremely strong and good at wearning ppl down. as i see it, his posture, his balance, are far superior to katsidis'. he has a truly solid base from which he operates, and has a fine array of punches. he might not be lightning fast but he compensates by having good timing and douing everything properly.

katsidis would be a massive handful and a big risk. but i'm not suit's the terrifying step up that kevin "class above" mitchell made it appar to be.

murray can be quite subtle. just because the skills aren't obvious, flashy ones, involving running a marathon and throwing shoeshiner punches (sorry, mitchell, re prescott, an admittedly good result), doesn't mean he lacks skills. also, i believe murray is a strong bugger whose size and body punching can dent some world class opposition. he has the tools for the job and i really likd that right hook to the body, in the buckland fight, something matthew macklin did well vs rafael sosa pintos (macklin's last fight with joe gallagher).

we do tend to lack confidence in the ability of uk fighters to get through that breach, to make that leap, to the next level. murray's infighting skills are outstanding and they will serve him well, especially on the US scene. meanwhile i think he could have some excellent rounds against the former european champ, kudriavtsev.

I think that's a patronising response to those of us who haven't seen the qualities you have in Murray. Cheap shoeshiner of a shot compared to your normal educated posts
