What is Haye doing?

Post by Autobarn »

i've stuck up for david haye. the world thinks he wants to duck wladimir klitschko. i prefer to give haye credit for the considerable risks he's taken, and i believe he wants to be part of the big stage.

but this is a bit baffling. haye and wlad were apparently in negotiations. the IBF have given wlad an extension, so that he can unify with haye. there is a window for this fight to happen...and now adam booth is saying that haye wants to fight vitali, instead? saying that wlad should fight povetkin, when the IBF are giving wlad the extension!

i understand that haye is one of the few cruiserweights to have made any real money and had any real success vs the big boys. that he has something to protect (a title). that other promoters have a piece of him, and that he should be able to cash in how he wants. and he always did seem to prefer vitali.

but it seems a weird time to say he wants to fight ol' trout pout, all things considered.

Its all very confusing, but am sure things will become clearer soon. They always seem to, I just wonder whether Wlad's camp are an absolute nightmare to negotiate with and probably want a zillion things in small print.I think the onus is on either Klitschko to fight Haye as they won't get american tv without it.

Adam Booth and David Haye are awaiting the outcome of Vitali Klitschko vs Albert Sosnowski before they commit themselves to a particular Klitschko.

I think they're hoping Vitali has really declined. Although he dominated Kevin Johnson, he showed signs of his age. He looked slower and like he had less power than in previous fights. If they think Vitali's a much easier fight than Wlad then they'll obviously go for that first.

I've always felt Vitali is the easier fight. Plus if he wins against Wlad he has to fight Povetkin instead if Vitali. Like going on Bullseye, winning and getting the speed boat to take back to Milton Keynes.

At least this way he could get both in a row.

I think it shows Haye is not as sincere as he makes out.

I honestly feel - he did want to fight Wlad - when he first moved up to heavyweight.

He signed to fight him - he was gunning for him - he wanted to be Champ.

I think Haye deep down felt he would probaly lose - but he was willing to take the chance - thats just my personal feeling on the matter.

He pulled out feigning a bad back - but the real reason was Setanta folded- and his purse was probaly not going to be paid, etc- thats a fair enough reason.

But now he has a title himself - I dont think he needs the Klits so much and is making good money being a Celeb and fighting the likes of Johyn Ruiz.

I think he is alot more comfortable now in his fincances and career - and is not so hungry to fight the Klits.

But whats the point in hanging about ?

Fight one of them - make sure you get a big pension purse - and even if he gets a beating - he can walk away from boxing fincially secure.

i've said it before - and i'll say it again..

Haye won't want anything to do with thr K-brothers till they show serious signs of decline.

What a shame really. He says he wanted to copy Holyfields path into the heavies. But Holyfield took the genuine risks in theknowledge that he really was special.

i am convinced haye stands more chance v wladimir, vitali is just too durable, has power and holds a shot well, which is something that his brother does not seem to do so well.

I agree

Shame really - you want to believe Haye when he talks his smack - but I have never been convinced he fancys fighting either brother.

Some people might say - or your just being a Haye hater.

But this is not the case - sure I slagged Haye off many times.

But in this case - I just sense he dont deep down fancy the job.

He signed to fight both brothers - and pulled out twice.

He chased Wladmir - around - even pubicly confronting him on the esclators - demanding a fight.

And now its come to - Wlad putting out a video challenge to him - yet now he says he would rather fight the other brother now.

What a farce.

it's not hard to predict the outcome of that fight!

i agree, vitali - as daunting as he is - seemed to be missing something last time out vs kevn johnson. the peter result probably flattered him (a case of right style, right size) and i believe he is riddled with injuries and lacking the stomach for competitive rounds. he looked like DLH vs forbes, outgunning and outsizing kevin johnson but looking sorry for himself even though everything was in his favour.

The outcome as in how good Vitali looks, and what flaws he shows, as I said in the next paragraph. It's obvious that the most likely outcome is a TKO victory for Vitali.
