Manny Agrees to 14 day Blood test
Re: Manny Agrees to 14 day Blood test
As my all time favorite ref used to say "Lets get it on"
Re: Manny Agrees to 14 day Blood test
mills lane, but as 1 post in 63 views would indicate either noone gives a toss or noone understands it.
someone told me he'd been accused of putting his blood in a fridge for a few days, til his blood replaces itself, then injecting his own blood back into him, thus giving him more red blood cells and more oxygen.
Testing should be mandatory in boxing.

Re: Manny Agrees to 14 day Blood test
I've never thought Pacquiao would be done for steroids but if they are going to accuse him of anything this would it, and could possibly explain his phenomenal work-rate. I'm still of the 'innocent until proven guilty' theory though, because I just think it's bang out of order going around accusing someone of doping without hard evidence.
Re: Manny Agrees to 14 day Blood test
If pushed, I would say he is gearing up, it is ripe in gyms around the world, alot more ripe than perhaps you think.
Shite, even the small little lrural eisure centre gym I use has more steriods than a hospital pharmacy!
Moving through weights is not uncommon, however the percentage of weight he has put on over the years - increase of 40% bodyweight is not normal or natural and to not only increase by that much but apppear stronger than men who are natural at the weight and acknowledged as strong men for that weight. Hmmmm, very suss for me

Didnt MAyweather and Delahoya start as Featherweights and have fought as high as Light middle and Middleweight.
these guys dont seem to get questioned , i know they were young when the started at feather and were big for the weight but wasnt Manny pretty big when he started out,
Also Manny doesnt look big at these weights now when hes fighting hes just very trim and very fast

I think it's the fact that Manny looks so utterly ripped and strong at the weight, whereas when DLH went to middle for example, he looked 'soft'.Gazmac81 wrote:Didnt MAyweather and Delahoya start as Featherweights and have fought as high as Light middle and Middleweight.

I really hope that the Pacman is clean as I love him as a fighter, but like Toby I've got my doubts. I suspect drugs in boxing are FAR more prevalent than most of us realise given the laxity of testing procedures and the fact there's so much money at stake in the upper echelons.
Re: Manny Agrees to 14 day Blood test
How about this one.
Pac says taking blood from him weakens him which people have presumed is a mental thing because there is no medical or science behind that.
It comes from when he fought Erik Morales the first time and had blood taken which he said resulted in him being weakned, losing and putting in a bad performance.
How about an alternative way of looking at that one - it was the last time he is known to have entered the ring clean as he was tested and when he was in the ring clean his performance suffered and he is not the all conquering swashbuckling fighter he appears to be unless he has artificial help
Food for thought.

Yes, they both need this fight and it should be an absoulote cracker. I fancy Mayweather on points fairly wide but it's so intresting
Re: Manny Agrees to 14 day Blood test
Mosley hurt PBF in the 2nd round, if Pacman catches him he will not let him off the hook as easily.

Thats called blood doping and it is impossible to test for that. 10,000 meter runners are always accused of that too.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:mills lane, but as 1 post in 63 views would indicate either noone gives a toss or noone understands it.

Re: Manny Agrees to 14 day Blood test
You can only test for the performance enhancing drugs that you know about .. thats where designer drugs come in
Nobody can say 100% if he is taking then - much the same as nobody can say 100% if he is not taking them.
What has made the waters murky is the reasons he has come out with for not to take the tests.
I would not like to guess if he is taking them or not. All I`ll say is that I would not be the slightest bit surprised if he was ..

This is old school blood doping and works the same as EPO.

I do give a toss and agree testing should be mandatory. I didn't respond as its just I don't think this is necessarily the deal maker. There is still a long way to go in negotiations, split of purse, venue etc. I still think PBF is so worried about protecting his "0" even above the money and does not want the fight.
I'll only believe this fight is on when i'm up at stupid o'clock watching it on sky.
Re: Manny Agrees to 14 day Blood test
I don't think Manny is doping. I think it was a vicious attempt by Floyds team to cause complications, play mind games and try to dirty his name with finger pointing.
I hope Floyd get sparked out, Manny will be clean then he's got no excuse to fall back on.
They say testing 'like random Olympic testing' but what's random about Floyd demanding it off his opponent in order to agree a contract. Disgrace and I hope other boxers don't start demanding the same thing, once a bridge like this is crossed it can open the flood gates for anyone to think it's ok to demand tests for contracts..

Is it considered illegal or banned under boxing rules?robdog wrote:NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:mills lane, but as 1 post in 63 views would indicate either noone gives a toss or noone understands it.

Re: Manny Agrees to 14 day Blood test
yes but mayweather wants the blood testing up to the day of the fight.
so if manny agrees to 14 days it doesn't do anything.
he's just going for something that mayweather won't accept.

The fight has to happen, although I said that last time, I half wonder if both parties pulling out of talks was staged to make the fight even bigger down the line.
Whether you like Floyd or not, I don't see what people's problem with random testing is, its a good thing for the sport and should be done for all world title bouts to protect the fighters. Random testing is the best way to catch cheats, we know most fighters get away with cheating today
Mayweather needs to get Manny in the ring, it should be an easy fight stylistically imo - a midget that likes to fight at mid range with little defense and wide open for counters = Mayweather's bread and butter

Re: Manny Agrees to 14 day Blood test
Manny should agree to all tests, as simple as that.If you have a cut off point, it is not random, which defeats the whole object. Have you noticed that european fighters do not go up as much weight/through as many weight divisions as the american trained fighters.Just a thought.
Unfortunately, I have my doubts about manny, when I don't want to as he comes accross as a decent bloke, but I cvan't forget his struggles with Morales and MArquez and marry it together with his devastating wins over Cotto, Hatton and Clottley, where he just so much fitter that his opponents. And stronger.Hmm.

Yes, but since when does a fighter get to dictate the drug testing methods used prior to a bout?Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:The fight has to happen, although I said that last time, I half wonder if both parties pulling out of talks was staged to make the fight even bigger down the line.

I have my doubts about Pacquaio - but then I have my doubts about most top flight boxers. As someone else said, Floyd started around featherweight, and has fought at 154 - so what's the big deal about Pacman doing some from Super Flyweight?

Re: Manny Agrees to 14 day Blood test
The difference is, Mayweather is slower at the higher weights and throws less contributions than he used to, but hits a bit harder, therefore it is a question of him growing into the weight. Manny, however, looks faster, has stacks more stamina and is punching 10x harder. Also, it is quite clear that Mayweather suspects Manny, therefore, I think it is fair for him to ask for random testing for both. I would, if I didn't want to lose my unbeaten record to a fighter that I suspected was using performance enhancing drugs.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Yes, but since when does a fighter get to dictate the drug testing methods used prior to a bout?Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:The fight has to happen, although I said that last time, I half wonder if both parties pulling out of talks was staged to make the fight even bigger down the line.

Re: Manny Agrees to 14 day Blood test
I should add, that I think there is a simple repsonse to being challenged on the matter of taking drugs. That is to say, how dare you, I will take them, prove to be clean and then I want an apology for trying to smear my name, that's if I was totally clean...
Re: Manny Agrees to 14 day Blood test
to me it's simple. pac gained some strength going up in weight (hopefully legally) whereas the opposition had either been at the weight too long, or had accepted a catchweight as part of the conditions of the fight, which severely depleted them.big lennox wrote:Manny should agree to all tests, as simple as that.If you have a cut off point, it is not random, which defeats the whole object.
