Boxing great Roberto Duran needed 10 stitches in his arm after falling from his motorcycle at the weekend, his wife said on Monday.

Duran, 53, also received treatment for scrapes and bruises in a shoulder, his legs, and his right foot, Felicidad Duran told The Associated Press.

He was resting at home and was in good condition, she added: "He's at home taking anti-inflammatory drugs."

Duran was descending a hill on his motorcycle on Sunday when the bike slid on oil, hurling him. He was wearing a helmet, his wife said.

He was taken immediately to a public hospital, where a spokesman confirmed Duran was treated on Sunday but had no further information.
