I came across this spiteful post a few moments ago, didn't half make me laugh.

Shows how fast boxing can change.

This was posted on Doghouse just after Rhodes had lost the 'cross roads' fight with Gary Lockett-

Who's gonna listen to a guy with no success as a trainer and a terrible pro record - worse still, as a pro he was ridiculed for being terrfied before fights and liable to chuck himself on the floor at the first sign of a punch coming his way.

But the final nail in the coffin must be the humiliation of having Dean Powell take over in the corner fo the Lockett fight, sidelining Coldwell to nothing better than head bucket-carrier!

If i was him i'd be seriously wondering about what happens next ...#

daves one of the best trainers out there good hes now getting his props ryans never looked as good the proofs in the pudding your always gunna get haters im just finding that out myself!

Funny thing the internet seems to bring out the worst in people. When I grew up every boxer deserved respect, since someone invented these bastard internet forums everyone seems happy to slag each other off. Last thing any fan wants to read is two professionals slating each other, hanging out their dirt laundry,- leave that for the MMA forums.

Dave has proved himself to be a fine trainer. The job he's done with Rhodes is just fantastic. Anyone who can turn the guy who my pal Lee Blundell basically pummeled- into a fine European champion, deserves massive kudos.

Curtis even a perfect fighting machine like Floyd Mayweather gets abuse- you either let it piss you off or you don't.

This is class though, something I found that I really liked........

Sorry to hear that Curtis - you've earned massive respect from all true fans of boxing with what you've achieved so far and the great attitude you've had in doing so. I think this inspirational quote from former US President Theodore Roosevelt sums up your situation:

People in this game have short memories. Who's to say in another 12 months he won't be getting slatted again, none of that is important.

What IS important is people having a pop at ex boxers. What ever they did or didn't do...they got in there. Not enough respect for that is shown in some of the comments made by people who clearly never have.

Ive never had a problem with Dave. when I met him he seemed a nice enough guy to me. Im glad hes proved the haters wrong and is doing alright for himself. :TU: well done dave!

Met Dave during the build up for Dodson/Smith and he came across really well.

Enjoyed some detailed conversation with him in anticipation of the grudge derby.

Getting people knocking you all the time just motivates people even more,in boxing results are what counts and it all seems to be happening for DC Sheffield is a hotbed for boxing talent,always has been.Gotta say well done to Dave for bringing Rhodes back and pushing Curtis forward too.

Yes i am really a female. If you are unsure ask ian mcneilly he knows as does kell brook and some other boxers/trainers.
